... that all cards are on the table in 4-way Women?

Awards at the Canadian Indoor Nationals 2018
posted Apr 26th, 2018 - The Canadian Indoor Nationals 2018 was the third competition that was scheduled for the same weekend of the World Challenge and the German Indoor Nationals.

The event featured another national team in 4-way Women that will compete at this year's FAI Outdoor World Meet.

Fuzion Voltige is one of several teams in this event who study each other carefully on the road to Australia. The Canadian team has been one of the medal contenders in 4-way Women for several years, and the NSL News story on 24 January 2018 had provided the latest update.

The results of the Canadian Indoor Nationals 2018 are the next opportunity to take a closer look at the situation in this event.

Fuzion Voltige won the AAA Class competition and defended the Canadian indoor title successfully after taking it from Evolution in 2017. The former national team in 4-way Open and FAI bronze medal winner of 2014 did not have a lineup at the indoor championships this year after competing with Nick Grillet in 2016 and 2017.

Richard, Valerie and Yannick Bisson with 4'Astrophe in 2013
Fuzion Voltige still had serious competition at the beginning of the month in Toronto, which might have come unexpected.

Richard Bisson, founder of the Canadian family team 4'Astrophe, had his 4-way family back together, even though daughter Valerie and son Yannick both competed with other teams, as well.

He had trained them in 4-way with 4'Astrophe years ago before they were both recruited for Canada's national teams in 4-way Women (Fuzion) and 4-way Junior (Air Devils).

Both trained with their own teams and competed at world championships, while they still joined their father and 4'Astrophe here and there. Nicolas Malley has been the fourth team member since 2016, and the two seniors had to work to keep up with the Bisson siblings.

Eventually 4'Astrophe has become strong enough to challenge even Fuzion Voltige, as the latest indoor scores from Canada are showing. In fact, 4'Astrophe was still three points ahead of Fuzion after Round 5.

Fuzion Voltige at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2018
The 4'Astrophe family reunion made the competition even more exciting, as Valerie Bisson trained and competed with Fuzion before she stepped back last year to focus more on college and professional career.

New Fuzion member Stephanie Longchamps took her tail slot and met her own former team at the indoor championships, as well. She trained and competed in the AA Class with team Storm in 2017. It was a big step for her from AA Class to the complete FAI/IPC dive pool with the Canadian national team in 4-way Women.

Storm has also moved up into the AAA Class this year with a new 2.0 lineup and an impressive 18.4 average that won the bronze medals over Attitude.

The 4-way Women leaderboard of the event in Norway is now showing Fuzion Voltige what to expect of international competition this year. Fuzion had a direct showdown, including an extra round, with the new U.S. team in this event, Phoenix XP, at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2018, and the scores from Norway complete the international 4-way Women situation. All cards are now on the table...
