... that Paraclete XP Summer Classic videos show Arizona Airspeed in action?

Eight rounds in Raeford: Adventure Flyers with coach Solly Williams in the lineup
posted Jun 18th, 2018 - The last two rounds of the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2018 were successfully completed on Sunday, and the sequences did not allow the teams to improve their meet averages.

In fact, all teams were facing two of the lowest sequences at the end of the meet. Only Adventures Flyers from Paraguay finished with Saturday's 12.6 average since they did not complete the meet on Sunday. TSC Off Cadence on the AA Class leaderboard was the only other team with the same finishing average as on Saturday.

Ranch 2nd Generation (R2G) was the AAA Class team with the least impact on the Round 8 average after the two slower sequences. The R2G average dropped only from 19.1 to 19.0 and is still 2.5 average points higher than the previous team record average.

Arizona Airspeed had to accept the 25.4 average at the end of the meet, which is an average point lower compared to the 26.4 average at the Shamrock Showdown 2018. The only other team that attended the DeLand outdoor meet in March was Adventure Flyers. However, the Paraguayan team's average does not help with any evaluation, as the Aventure Flyers had a different lineup. Coach Solly Williams filled in for Belen Varela in Raeford, and the team did not complete the two slower rounds on Sunday. The Airspeed members and all observers in Europe have to analyze the Airspeed performance without any help from other available data.

AAA Class teams at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2018
There is a little bit help for an evaluation by comparing the indoor and outdoor scores of the four AAA Class teams who completed all ten rounds.

Each of them also competed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2018 and used the same competition draw in February.

Arizona Airspeed posted a 31.5 average after the ten Paraclete indoor rounds and finished with 25.4 last weekend for a 1.24 ration.

Ranch 2nd Generation impressed with the 19.0 average at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic after last year's 16.4 winning average in the Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals 2017.

However, Airspeed's scoring proportion between the two Paraclete events is still better than R2G's (25.7 - 19.0 = 1.35), even though the U.S. champions may not be happy with the lower average compared to the Shamrock Showdown. Vega XP (16.2 - 12.9 = 1.26) ends up behind Airspeed, as well.

Only Savage XP, newly formed this year, came closer to their own indoor average (19.9 - 17.3 = 1.15) than Airspeed. Arizona Airspeed's Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2018 meet videos are presenting the U.S. gold medal contender with their latest outdoor performance last weekend. This time, the international opponents have the opportunity to study the Airspeed performance.

AAA Class teams at the Coupe de France May meet
The French national team in 4-way Open, Aerodyne Realfly, had provided the footage of the team's 25.7 performance at the Coupe de France May meet after the competition. Airspeed and all other medal contenders at the FAI World Meet 2018 had the opportunity to take a closer look at the most recent French outdoor performance.

The pure numbers of the meet averages seem to have brought both teams closer together, while the coaches and experts will carefully evaluate and compare the two different competition draws and the videos.

Arizona Airspeed and Aerodyne Realfly plan to compete for the gold medals in Australia, where they meet the Belgian 4-way world champions of 2014 and 2016, NMP PCH HayaBusa.

The Belgians don't have any outdoor meets on their schedule, and they will probably use the French and Airspeed meet sequences in their training. However, they know well that training and competition are two very different things...
