posted Sep 4th, 2018 - Teams from Northern California and Florida created once again a busy World Tunnel League leaderboard for the month of August, and the AAA Class competition was the most popular part this time.

It was a colorful combination of scores from different flying chambers. The teams in Northern California completed their six rounds either in the 12-foot flying chamber of iFLY Sacramento or at iFLY SF Bay, and one team from Florida did the same at iFLY Orlando. All other teams on the August leaderboard completed all ten rounds at iFLY Tampa, including the 14+ sequences in the last four rounds 7 to 10.

Arizona Airspeed's Niklas Hemlin was back to Florida in August after his July visit, and he player-coached Tampa's FSL Kickers (James Hall, Sebastian Jimenez, Amer Kassas) to a new team record average after ten rounds and the first place after six rounds.

The strongest opponent was the SCZ ZEUS lineup in August. ZEUS manager Amer Kassas had recruited Erica Gorski and James Hall for this event, and Niklas Hemlin moved his second lineup within striking distance of the Tampa Kickers. ZEUS was three points behind after the six 12+ sequences and finished one point closer after Round 10.

The leaderboard needed adjustments in the rankings after the first six rounds that all teams completed.

Cali4nia Raptors had to give up the 1st place when the meet averages of the Florida teams increased after dropping the scores for the four slower sequences in rounds 7 to 10. FSL Kickers Tampa and SCZ ZEUS ended up in the two top spots, while a third team from Florida tied Cali4nia Raptors in 3rd place.

Kickers 3.0 (Sally Craig-Hathaway, Leslie Eggenberger, James Hall, Sebastian Jimenez) posted their scores at the second FSL Tunnel Kicker/WTL August event in Tampa.

Cali4nia Raptors won the 3rd place position with the highest score between the two teams, the 24-pointer for the Super Sequence in Round 3, according to the official tie-breaking rules. No other ranking positions changed, and the ten September sequences are waiting for the first scores...
