Did You Know...

... that the Weembinamic 4-way competition generated the next Battle for Bronze?

4-way AAA Class awards at the Weembinamic 2018
posted Dec 12th, 2018 - The series of battles for bronze medals continued after four of them took place in all four categories at the ISR Grand Prix 2018.

The teams in 1st and 2nd place at the 4-way AAA Class competition of the Weembinamic 2018 were in secure finishing positions on the traditional leaderboard, and the winner (3guys1bride) was not under too much pressure in the two rounds of the finals (61 – 58). Silver medalist Weembi Legion was ten points ahead of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

The situation at Weembi Lille was completely different behind the two top teams and created a new “Battle for Bronze”. In fact, the difference of three points after ten rounds (263 - 260) between the two French all-female lineups Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Weembi French Girls was the closest one on the whole 4-way leaderboard in both categories.

However, the traditional leaderboard is showing a much closer race for the Weembinamic bronze medals than the outcome of the 2-round duel in the finals. Weembi French Girls were actually five points ahead after Round 8. They lost the lead on the traditional leaderboard and the finals both in the last two rounds.

The two reigning 4-way Women outdoor world champions (Aerodyne Weembi) and 4-way Open indoor world cup winners (Weembi Mix) Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis must have realized after Round 8 that the previous pace would not be enough to win the 2-round competition over the young French B-team challengers of the Weembi French Girls, who were guided by Sophia Pecout's and Christine Malnis' world champion team mate Clementine Le Bohec.

The videos are showing that Girls Just Wanna Have Fun picked up the pace in Round 9, and Sophia Pecout's and Christine Malnis' team mates kept up with it. B-team member Gaelle Giesen has been the official alternate for Aerodyne Weembi, and she also had a 28.2 experience in her records when she filled Pamela Lissajoux's slot at the Wind Games 2018.

Italian Amnesya member Chiara Brunetti was familiar with a faster pace, as well, and Weembi French Girls could not keep up any longer in the finals. Their 5-point lead after Round 8 eventually turned into a 3-point deficit on the traditional leaderboard after all ten rounds.

Weembi French Girls were Clementine Le Bohec's third lineup at the Weembinamic. She had won the 4-way competition with 3guys1bride and was in the Weembi Legion lineup, as well. She missed the 3rd place on the traditional leaderboard only by the three points between her third team and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

French 4-way Women team at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018
Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis will now go back to Weembi Mix with Julien Degen and Roy Janssen. They will try to turn the FAI Indoor World Cup gold medals that they won in Bahrain in October into gold at the FAI Indoor World Championship. The event will take place on their home turf at Weembi Lille, and NMP PCH HayaBusa will try to defend the world championship title of 2017.

The Weembi French Girls lineup will continue unchanged with the goal to win the gold medals for France at the same event in 4-way Women. Clementine Le Bohec will be the only defending world champion, as her 2017 team mates Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis compete in 4-way Open.

Her team mates Claire Victoire De Fleurian, Elise Poindron and Jessica Thebault recently collected their own international competition experiences when they won the silver medals for France at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018 in Bahrain, with Camille Villanneau in the lineup.

The new French national indoor team in 4-way Women with Clementine Le Bohec finished already above the NFTO winning level in Bahrain. The British team will be under a lot of pressure at Weembi Lille in April 2019...
