Did You Know...

... that the first 2019 scores will be posted in the Czech Republic and in Arizona this week?

Next WTL meet at the Fööni wind tunnel in Helsinki this weekend
posted Jan 8th, 2019 - The first scores of the new year will come from the Czech Republic, where the Hurricane Factory is hosting the Czech part of the World Tunnel League's January competition on Wednesday. The Czech 4-way teams will then follow up with a different competition draw for their national indoor championships on the weekend, while Eliana Rodriguez and Michelle Karamon are running the Arizona Skydiving League's first outdoor meet of the year in Eloy at the same time.

The Finnish Tunnel League will then follow up very soon at the Fööni wind tunnel in Helsinki and join the Czech teams on the WTL January leaderboard.

The Czech teams had once again the vast majority on the December leaderboard, which will change in January when even more Finnish 4-way teams than in September last year are coming back to Fööni for their first WTL indoor meet of the new year.

Once again, the U.S. teams in Northern California completed only six rounds in their 12-foot flying chambers at iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento, while the Czech teams finished after all ten rounds in their 14-foot chamber. The AAA Class standings were the same after Round 6 and Round 10, and Czech A Class team High Five eventually had international company on the leaderboard, as well.

Jump-off with Hands Free: Cali4nia Kids at the USPA Nationals 2018
The new NCTL/NCSL team Building Blocks have plans to continue with regular training and competition. DeLoreans members and player coaches Lori Connor and Matt Stephens introduce Lisa Larkin and Maria Sheets to the complete AAA Class dive pool in 2019. Last year's Err Speed member Lisa Larkin switches from point to tail and will be in the rear piece with Lori Connor. Maria Sheets has outside center Matt Stephens as her front piece partner.

The AA Class leaderboard looked differently after Round 6. Cali4nia Kids finished far ahead with a new indoor team record average. The same lineup had missed the USPA Intermediate Class bronze medals last year only after an extra round against Hands Free. They were back in the AA Class at the last indoor meet of the year and seem to position themselves as the U.S. top contender for USPA Intermediate Class medals at the 2019 national championships.

NCTL/NCSL team 4tune had to leave the 2nd and 3rd places after Round 6 for the Czech junior teams and ended up right in the middle of the 7-team field. HF Flying Rebels and HF Dragonflies had their own internal battle behind Cali4nia Kids. The Dragonflies were one point ahead after the first six rounds. Then the Flying Rebels passed the Dragonflies and pulled away in the following three rounds. The same Czech junior duel will take place twice this week...
