Did You Know...

... that the Dutch Team Red finished on top of the NSL Ultimate 4-way AA Class Rankings 2018?

posted Jan 20th, 2019 - The NSL News story on 27 December 2018 had presented the best ultimate 4-way teams in the world. All available scores in the database of 2018 were used to find the world's strongest 4-way teams in both environments, indoor and outdoor competition.

The story covered only the AAA Class teams, and there was no big difference between the number of indoor and outdoor teams in the respective Top 15 positions. Only three teams in the Top 15 of the indoor rankings did not compete at outdoor meets, as well.

The situation is very different in the AA Class rankings. Only three teams in the Top 15 of the world's indoor rankings attended outdoor meets, as well: Team Red (Netherlands), Amnesya Academy (Italy) and Cali4nia Kids (United States), and they are not even anywhere close to the indoor top spots.

The main reason for this interesting situation are the teams in the 4-way Junior category. Three junior teams from three different countries are in the Top 3 positions: Aerokart Ak'demie (France), Air Devils (Canada), HF Cubs (Czech Republic).

Indoor competition is the only 4-way environment for the 4-way juniors, and they make it very clear that they are far ahead of all senior teams in their AA Class indoor element.

The three senior teams behind the 4-way juniors in the indoor rankings have only attended indoor meets, as well, and the Cali4nia Kids are the first outdoor team in 8th place.

The three outdoor teams in the Top 15 indoor rankings then took three of the Top 4 positions in the ultimate 4-way rankings, where the overall average is calculated by all outdoor and indoor results of the year.

TSC Cadence, Intermediate Class winner at the USPA Nationals 2018, was the world's best AA Class outdoor team last year, followed by Team Red (Netherlands) and Stardust (Belgium) who placed tied in 2nd place.

Both teams had stronger indoor scores than the U.S. team and took the top positions in the ultimate rankings, Team Red of the Dutch 20+ Project slightly ahead of their Belgian neighbors.

The Top 4 in the world's ultimate 4-way AA Class rankings are from four different countries and created a colorful mix of teams.

Team Red, the Ultimate AA Class Champion of 2018, is the only team from the Netherlands in the Top 10.

Belgium and the United States placed three teams each, and the Belgium teams would combine for the best Top 10 nations finish.

Several of the AA Class teams of 2018 are done with this category and will appear on AAA Class leaderboards in 2019. The 4-way Junior teams will be back in the AA Class and probably once again dominate their leaderboards...
