Did You Know...

... that all four World Challenge winners of 2018 will be back in Bedford next month?

A Class awards at the World Challenge 2018
posted Mar 20th, 2019 - It's not only the AAA Class leaderboard that has a colorful international field of teams at the World Challenge. The currently registered AA Class teams are coming to Bedford from eight different countries.

The NSL Power Rankings are also promising exciting competition once again in this category, as well. Italian team KetchUp ADV is leading the group of top contenders who have a scoring history in the NSL News archives. The team's 21.0 average was posted at the ISR Grand Prix 2018, where the Italians finished in 2nd place behind the HF Junior Cubs.

Flyspot Omega from Poland was still competing in the A Class at the World Challenge 2018 and had finished in 2nd place behind Oman Wolf. Both teams will be back in Bedford this year and have both signed up for the AA Class competition. Despite last year's results, Flyspot Omega is set ahead of Oman Wolf in the power rankings since the Polish team has posted a 19.0 average in the AA Class this month at a 6-round meet at Flyspot.

Both teams will probably push each other closer to the top contender from Italy who cannot get too comfortable, even though the 21.0 average in Roosendaal is a strong foundation. The teams in Roosendaal completed only eight rounds, while the World Challenge is once again scheduled for ten rounds.

The Papea team from Spain could also be in the mix for the medal positions in the AA Class, depending on the lineup. Papea Mixto member Oscar Marsal Hernandez has signed up the team and not the complete lineup yet for the AA Class competition in Bedford. Papea Mixto has posted three AAA Class averages, the latest one at the Wind Games 2019.

British team Nebula is moving up into the AA Class competition after seven indoor and outdoor meets last year, including the ESL Championship. The World Challenge 2018 was the team's first meet, where they met Flyspot Omega and Oman Wolf in the A Class competition. All three teams will now have a re-match in the AA Class.

Last year's Rookie Class winner is back in Bedford, as well. The MAD Team is from Poland and well experienced with the A Class dive pool by now.

MAD Team moved up into the A Class competition right after the World Challenge 2018 and has posted A Class scores at six meets ever since. The Polish team is the top contender this year and will probably make the next step once again after this year's World Challenge.

The Flying Penguins from Romania are back in the A Class after the 6th place last year, and Clantastic 4 continues in the A Class, as well.

4-way Junior team Recruitz Ice started in the Rookie Class of 2017 and continued with A Class competition at World Challenge and Revenge last year. The British delegation for the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 also includes a 4-way Junior team for the first time.

British team We Are 4 won the Rookie Class silver medals behind MAD Team last year in Bedford, and they join the Polish team now on the A Class leaderboard.

All four World Challenge winners of 2018 will be back this year. NMP PCH HayaBusa are the reigning AAA Class champions and have been undefeated for several years.

Tempo from Finland won the AA Class competition last year and has been posting scores on AAA Class leaderboards ever since.

Oman Wolf won the A Class and MAD Team the Rookie Class at the World Challenge 2018. Only the Belgian indoor and outdoor world champions will compete in the same category...
