posted Mar 22nd, 2019 - It is not easy for a team with an international lineup to maintain continuity with training and competition. It is even more difficult for an 8-way team, where logistics and management are at least twice as challenging as for 4-way teams.

Another difficulty for a competitive international team is to find high-profile events with a strong field. FAI/IPC events are not open for guest teams, while some of the national championships allow teams and competitors from other countries to participate and post their scores.

However, even though some of Martial Ferre's Veloce 8-way project teams have no eligibility status at FAI/IPC events and national championships, they have found at least indoor events where they can register for competition. The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship has been one of the destinations for Veloce 8-way teams for many years.

Despite the logistical and administrative challenges for an international 8-way team, Martial Ferre's signature lineup of Veloce QRF (Quick Response Force) has recently shown impressive continuity. The same eight team members of the whole Veloce roster have attended four 8-way indoor meets since December 2017.

Qatar Falcons and Veloce QRF at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2019

Three Germans (Petra Baerenfaenger, Uwe Soppa, Henning Stumpp) have the majority in the lineup. Two Scandinavians (Seth Erickson - Sweden, Kjetil Nordin - Norway), Jérome Héritier from Switzerland and Dutchman Paul Hofstee have been following Martial Ferre's path for a while, who is now the only French team member.

The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship was the first QRF competition this year, after the November visit at the Weembinamic. The Qatar Falcons competed at both events, as well, and both teams increased their meet averages significantly at Paraclete.

The Qatar Falcons move on to the FAI Indoor World Meet, where they will try to get to the medal rankings. Veloce QRF cannot compete at Weembi Lille as a team, and none of the members are also in the respective national 8-way teams - with one exception.

Martial Ferre is the captain of the new French national indoor 8-way team that the NSL News introduced on January 19th. He will try to fend off the challenge of the Qatar Falcons and outscore Paraclete XP and Tanay for the gold medals...
