NMP PCH HayaBusa won the 9th consecutive time in Bedford and was dominating like never before. It was the second time in the World Challenge history that the Belgian indoor and outdoor world champions won or tied all ten rounds. Only IFS Moscow and Qatar Tigers stopped the almost complete HayaBusa sweep in the very last minute. The French Girls had stopped a similar sweep in Round 5 of the World Challenge 2016, SDC Rhythm XP and a different Weembi lineup in 2015.
The Belgians did not give away any of the ten rounds, and it will be very challenging for all other teams to change this situation at the FAI Indoor World Meet next week. Arizona Airspeed and Qatar Tigers will be joined by Black Cat and Weembi High Rollers in Lille to challenge HayaBusa again round by round.
The current Weembi High Rollers lineup met the Belgians first time at the World Challenge last year and won three rounds. Then they eventually became the first team to defeat HayaBusa at an indoor competition since 2011. It happened at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018, and the same Weembi lineup will try to do the same next week on their home turf.
ACM Weembi and Chimera had their own battle for the 4-way Open Class title, as NFTO compete in 4-way Women at the FAI world cups and world meets. It was a 10-round battle with all the drama that a 4-way competition can offer, including a nerve-wrecking judging issue for ACM in Round 7. ACM had the upper hand for the first four rounds before Chimera began to turn a 4-way deficit into a 1-point lead in Round 6 and at the end of the first day. They tied their scores for all four rounds on Saturday, and Chimera is the new British 4-way indoor champion in 4-way Open.
The first NSL Live TV video clip features a conversation with NFTO at the end of the first competition day, after they had created their own 4-point lead over Chimera, which also lasted until the meet was over. All three British top teams actually tied their totals for the four rounds on Saturday.
The second video clip features Ged Parker one more time with his special calls of the Top 10 teams to the flying chamber. The NSL TV camera then followed the last three teams to the flying chamber for another up close and level view of the Round 7 performances.
