NFTO have been slowing down a little bit with flying time after the short visit to London and a day off, while the British national 4-way Open and 4-way Women champions are still successfully fine-tuning the team performance.
At the same time, Nephtys Weembi's new lineup use every minute to get familiar with the new center work, after Pamela Lissajoux began to help out in her world championship slot. The French delegation is complete by now, as the 4-way Junior team, Aerokart Ak'demie, have also joined the group of teams in training on Tuesday.
Aerokart Ak'demie recently won the bronze medals at the French Indoor Nationals in the AAA/Open Class. The NSL News mentioned earlier that the French 4-way juniors have attended five meets in this category since January last year. They only competed once in the AA Class at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018, where they placed 2nd behind the Canadian Air Devils. This week, they will also be back in the AA Class as the defending 4-way Junior world champions of 2017. The video is showing that the French team was using AA sequences for the final preparations.
The French teams and coaches are under pressure on their home turf, where the expectations are high. The NSL News mentioned earlier that there is a realistic chance of a complete FS Sweep by the French delegation. However, there is no easy way to the gold medals in any of the five FS indoor categories.
Weembi High Rollers are dealing with the very well prepared NMP PCH HayaBusa and need ten great rounds to win the 4-way Open Class competition. France is the reigning world meet and world cup indoor and outdoor champion in 4-way Women. The new national team indoor team Nephtys Weembi have to deal with tough challengers in 4-way Women though.
Aerokart Ak'demie finished ahead of HF Cubs at the last two FAI events. However, the young Czech 4-way Junior ladies are close enough for a surprise in this event, as well. Last and not least, U.S. team SDC Core will be ready for the re-match with the only team that outscored them in the last years, the reigning French VFS world champions of 2017.
The Pro Team from Finland was back on Tuesday for the registration procedures after a training session on Monday. Former 4-way junior Kalle Pohjola, who is 18 years of age by now, attends his first FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving, even though he is already an experienced 4-way competitor.
He grew up in a 4-way family and started with 4-way training more than six years ago. However, he did not have the opportunity to join forces with other 4-way juniors in Finland and compete in the new FAI events. He could only attend other meets and won World Challenge titles in Bedford a few times.
Father Kimmo Pohjola has been his team mate from the beginning, and he confirmed that the Pro Team will continue with Kalle Pohjola for another year, so he can also attend his first outdoor world meet in Tanay 2020...
