Did You Know...

... that the speed test videos feature almost all teams at Weembi Lille?

Weembi Lille wind tunnel
posted Apr 17th, 2019 - Things became a little bit more serious on Wednesday at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019. All registered teams had three minutes of flying time at Weembi Lille to establish their final air speed for the competition. There were only a few teams who did not need the extra time or could not be at the wind tunnel in time.

ACM Weembi have trained regularly in Lille and did not show up for the speed test. FlySpot Sky4Four from Poland and Papea from Spain are missing on the NSL-TV video clip of the speed test in 4-way Open, as well.

None of the 4-way Women teams missed the extra flying time, and the speed test flights confirmed that a close competition for the medal positions can be expected in this category.

The 4-way Open Class teams started at 10.00 am in the morning, followed by 4-way VFS, 4-way Women and 4-way Junior. The six 8-way teams completed the speed test on Wednesday afternoon. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 19.00 pm at a different location. The competition draw will be the last event of the day.

Joey Jones commented the situation after the speed test in 4-way Open and is confident that his Weembi High Rollers have a few special and promising techniques. He mentioned Block 13 (Mixed Accordian - Mixed Accordian) where he sees an advantage for the French national team in 4-way Open.

Jan Klapka introduced his HF Cubs lineup on NSL-TV before they showed their amazing 4-way skills once again in the flying chamber.

Kirk Verner added his observations after the speed test in 4-way Women. Gary Smith and David Grauwels were watching the 8-way teams and had some feedback, as well. David Grauwels watched the 8-way performances from a different perspective as the Belgium IPC delegate, and he liked what he saw.

One of the 8-way teams had only half of the team in the flying chamber for the speed test time. Four members of the Polish 8-way team Why Not? used the extra time and practiced some of the 8-way block techniques. Young sisters Zaneta and Dominika Olczyk usually fly with their parents for the Olczyk Flyspot Team in 4-way. They signed up with their mother Agnieszka Olczyk for Poland's 8-way team at Weembi Lille.
