Did You Know...

... that Joey Jones commented Round 1 on NSL-TV?

Russian delegation at the opening ceremony
posted Apr 18th, 2019 - The FAI Indoor World Meet was officially opened on Wednesday evening, after all teams had completed their speed test flying sessions. It turned out that the Russian national team in 4-way Women, under Bubble Hubble this time, needed the highest air speed in the flying chamber, while the Weembi High Rollers have the lowest number.

IPC President Gillian Rayner announced during the opening ceremony that the IPC bid to become a part of the Olympic Games in 2024 was not successful. She added that the world's skydiving organization will continue with the same efforts in the near future.

The competition draw followed as soon as the competition was officially opened and was once again done manually, as the current IPC rules require. Engineering and dirt-diving began as soon as the draw was available at several different locations, including the culture center where the opening ceremony took place.

The engineering of the ten sequences was showing how much more flexible the continuity plans and strategies have become over the years. Especially the top teams with enough indoor training include many engineering options that were not thinkable before indoor training made it much easier to try different options. The actual competition will most likely feature many different ways how to master any sequence.

NFTO performance under surveillance: Tano and Abby Parker
Round 1 of the 4-way Open Class competition was scheduled for Thursday morning, and the meet began with a quite easy sequence. However, even the execution of the three random formations with Block 14 (Bipole - Bipole) was not the same for all teams. They applied one of the two different options for the sequence of Round 1 (M,K,D,14).

Joey Jones was not supervising his Weembi High Rollers any longer in the final countdown for Round 1. He said that the team members are so experienced that they know the procedures that have been practiced in training and competition. All four Weembi High Rollers are 4-way world champions, Julien Degen (2010) and Roy Janssen (2014) in 4-way Open, Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis in 4-way Women.

He had enough time to watch Round 1 in the audience and commented the performances for the NSL News.

The 4-way Women competition began right after the first round in 4-way Open, and the NSL-TV video clip includes NFTO, who have the lead at the end of the first day. Vana Parker's son Tano and daughter Abby were watching the NFTO performance, and they were were happy with their mother's performance...
