... that the NSL News zoomed in on 8-way and 4-way Junior on Thursday?

Battle for 4th place: Black Cat from Russia

posted Apr 18th, 2019 - The first meet day at the FAI Indoor World Meet is over, and the competition in four of the five Formation Skydiving events is just as exciting as expected and hoped for.

Only the 4-way VFS competition turns out to be different, as France did not even register a team - after winning the previous indoor world meet in Montreal 2017. Thus, SDC Core is ten points ahead of the field, and Russia's national team owns the 2nd place. However, there is a battle for the bronze medals between Italy and Poland.

The medal positions in 4-way Open are identical with the NSL Power Rankings, while the battle on the top of the leaderboard is far from being over. All three teams have claimed or tied a highscore in the first four rounds, and Weembi High Rollers can still catch NMP PCH HayaBusa, while Arizona Airspeed is within striking distance of the 2nd place at the same time.

Black Cat and Qatar Tigers battle for the 4th place, Airhead and Echochamber do their best to stay in touch with both. ACM Weembi live up to higher expectations compared to the World Challenge, even though NFTO are once again a few points ahead of ACM, in their own pursuit of the gold medal position in 4-way Women.

Leader in 4-way Junior: HF Cubs

The NSL News zoomed in on the 8-way competition and the most exciting battle between HF Cubs and Aerokart Ak'demie in 4-way Junior. The Czech young ladies have caught up with the French junior pace and hold a 2-point lead after three of the eight rounds.

The NSL-TV camera also recorded an interesting 4-way Junior situation on Thursday. The first video clip of the day included an NFTO performance in 4-way Women, which was carefully watched by NFTO member Vana Parker's daughter Abby and son Tano. The reversed situation occurred at the end of the day when the Aerokart Ak'demie junior team was up for Round 3 in the flying chamber.

Monaco member Stephane Mattoni, currently in 13th place with his own team on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard, and with former French 4-way junior Kylian Forsans in the lineup, was watching his son Tom Mattoni performing Round 3 with the Aerokart Ak'demie team. He did not have much time to comment the performance and left soon to meet his son.

Joey Jones, on the other side, had enough time to wrap up the day for the NSL News. He had player coach Martial Ferre with his French 8-way team in front of the camera. The young French team, with 18-year old Alban Rumolo in the lineup, is closer to Paraclete XP8 than expected, and the U.S. team has to keep an eye on the home team...
