posted Apr 19th, 2019 - The 4-way Open Class leaderboard of the FAI Indoor World Meet after Round 6 on Friday morning was not a mistake.

All 18 teams actually performed Round 6, while only the 27-pointers by NMP PCH HayaBusa and Weembi High Rollers were officially posted. The judges did not have sufficient video footage for the other 16 teams, due to a flaw in the recording system, which was fixed before the last two teams in the Round 6 rotation entered the flying chamber.

Meet director Patrice Girardin called the team captains to a meeting and explained the situation. He had decided to keep the two scores posted and send the other 16 teams back into the flying chamber at the end of the scheduled 4-way Open Class day.

Nothing changed on the very top of the leaderboard, as NMP PCH HayaBusa and Weembi High Rollers tied their scores and will not repeat the sequence. Arizona Airspeed was five points behind the French team in 3rd place after Round 5 and has the opportunity to improve the Round 6 performance. However, there is no video footage available for any of the 16 teams to evaluate the previous performances and take advantage of the situation.

Coach Gary Smith is effected on both sides. HayaBusa will be done after Round 8, while the Qatar Tigers will go back to the Round 5 sequence, together with Arizona Airspeed and the other 14 teams.

It would have been logistically complicated to repeat Round 5 right away and when it became clear that the video footage would not be judgeable. Meet director Patrice Girardin took some time to explain the situation to the NSL News after the decisions were made, and after the jury had approved the procedure.

The teams moved on to Round 6, and the sixteen zeros for Round 5 will soon turn into better scoring numbers. HayaBusa added three points to the lead in Round 6, and the sequence of Round 7 does not allow much room for the Weembi High Rollers to get significantly closer. The Belgian 4-way machine is speeding steadily towards the finish line.

The current averages do not reflect the actual performance level of the 16 teams and will match again after Round 8 and the repetition of Round 5 later on Friday.
