posted May 1st, 2019 - There were only two countries at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 who managed to place two teams in the Top 10 on the combined AAA Class leaderboard. France won gold medals in 4-way Women, and Nephtys Weembi took the 7th place on the combined leaderboard, where Weembi High Rollers placed 2nd and won the 4-way Open Class silver medals.

Great Britain was the only other country with the same accomplishment in 4-way Formation Skydiving competition at Weembi. NFTO won the silver medals in 4-way Women, and the 27.8 average made the 8th place on the combined leaderboard. ACM Weembi placed 8th in 4-way Open Class and was the last team to make the Top 10 on the combined leaderboard.

The French delegation in the Top 10 of the best 4-way teams in the world consisted of eight female and two male competitors. The British delegation was a 50 - 50 combination.

The two British teams have been battling their own duels with different lineups at indoor and outdoor meets since 2015 until ACM Weembi decided to focus only on indoor training and competition. The team's last outdoor competition was the national championship in 2016. The same duel still continued in the flying chambers of several different wind tunnels. NFTO also trained for outdoor competition and won the silver medals in 4-way Women at the FAI World Meet 2018 in Australia, where Satori XL competed for Great Britain.

The indoor duel began in October 2016, and both teams kept pushing each other meet by meet with changing winners. They won the British qualification for the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 at the World Challenge 2018, and the preparations for the event at Weembi Lille began.

However, NFTO would also compete for Great Britain at the outdoor world meet in Australia and invested first into outdoor training after last year's World Challenge. The outdoor efforts were rewarded with the FAI silver medals in Australia.

NFTO then had to shift quickly to indoor mode, as the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018 was scheduled shortly after the outdoor world meet in Australia. They mastered the task perfectly and won the 4-way Women gold medals, even though ACM Weembi outscored NFTO in Bahrain.

NFTO then began with intensive indoor training when the outdoor season was over, and the results began to show clearly at the World Challenge with the team's first 26+ average. NFTO also outscored all other British teams, including ACM Weembi, with the new 26.3 record average.

British indoor and outdoor top spot: NFTO in Australia 2018
The NSL News reported from Weembi Lille on April 12th that NFTO's final preparations for the indoor world meet were successful and promising. It seemed like there was a very good chance for the British team to defend the FAI top spot in 4-way Women successfully.

The interesting and surprising French situation of Nephtys Weembi in the run-up to the indoor world meet turned out to be even more successful, and NFTO's new team record average of 27.8 was not enough to win the gold medals in 4-way Women.

ACM Weembi at the same time was back to the team's top level near the 27-average benchmark at the indoor world meet. ACM had posted a 26.9 at the World Challenge 2018.

The 26.7 at Weembi Lille was still not even close to NFTO this time, who had arrived at the 28-average level before penalties.

NFTO maintained the top spot in British indoor and outdoor competition, which begins this weekend with the first meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League 2019 season.
