Did You Know...

... that Christy Frikken helped out for her former Perris Fury team mate Josh Hall?

USPA Advanced Class bronze medals in 2018: Elsinore Elevate
posted Sep 6th, 2019 - Josh Hall was one of Niklas Hemlin's team mates at the FAI World Meet 2012, where Arizona Airspeed posted the highest outdoor average in the history of Formation Skydiving competition, as the NSL News mentioned yesterday.

The same story pointed out that Josh Hall has been player-coaching Elsinore Elevate in 2018 and 2019. Elevate won the USPA bronze medals in the AAA/Advanced Class at last year's national championships and will probably try to win gold later this month.

Josh Hall has been organizing the Southern California Skydiving League, while he is managing the skydiving operation at Skydive Elsinore. He still finds enough time to prepare Elsinore Elevate for the USPA Nationals. He knows how important competition experiences are, and he tries to attend as many as possible with his teams.

Elsinore Elevate competed at both SCSL meets this year. The third one at Skydive San Diego fell victim to bad weather. However, Elevate attended the first World Tunnel League competition at iFLY Ontario instead with the complete 2019 lineup. Keith Conner has replaced Brian Young for the 2019 season.

Elsinore Elevate with Christy Frikken
Elsinore Elevate took the first place in the AAA Class on the August leaderboard with a 19.6 average. Josh Hall was in the point position for Arizona Airspeed in 2012, and he is now the outside center for Elsinore Elevate.

His team was ready for the final test before the USPA Nationals at Skydive Perris, where the August meet of the Southern California Skydiving League took place.

Unfortunately, Josh Hall woke up the morning of the competition with a head cold and could not jump.

His team mates were already at the competition site, so they tried to find a substitute and got lucky. Christy Frikken attended the same meet with her own team, the all-female Perris Force lineup. She is used to challenging 4-way situations and agreed to jump in both teams.

Her own team has a new lineup this year, as the NSL News reported on February 17th, after the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship. The lineup in August was a different one though, as Amanda Lampton had joined Perris Force to fill the slot for injured Shannon Catalano.

Perris Fury reunion in 2016: Josh Hall - Chris Farina - Christy Frikken - Uli Steuwe
Christy Frikken and Amanda Lampton know each other from a year with Perris Wicked in 2012. Amanda Lampton was also organizing the Indoor Cloud League events at iFLY Dallas for several years before Kyle Hermberg continued.

Both were also Dallas 350 alumni, even though they were not in the same lineups. Christy Frikken joined the team as a player-coach, together with Chris Farina, when Amanda Lampton had left to train and compete with Phoenix XP, who represented the United States in 4-way Women at the FAI World Meet 2018.

Josh Hall and Christy Frikken know each other very well, too. They were front piece partners for Perris Furyfor many years and became one of the best 4-way teams in the world together. Josh Hall left Perris Fury to join Arizona Airspeed in 2011 and become a world champion in 2012. Christy Frikken continued for another year with a new lineup and then joined SDC Rhythm XP in 2013.

The original Perris Fury lineup had a reunion at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 and finished five points (26.3 - 26.8) behind SDC Rhythm XP with the current lineup. Josh Hall and Christy Frikken were in the same team again in August in Perris. However, Josh Hall had to sit on the bench and watch Elsinore Elevate perform with Christy Frikken...
