Did You Know...

... that the Indoor Cloud League 2019 team posted a 23.3 average in the AAA Class?

Seven highscores: HF Flying Circus
posted Jan 20th, 2020 - The AAA Class lineups of the Indoor Cloud League represent the highest level of the participating teams. Many of them are 4-way teams who train and compete at other events, as well. Other ICL teams, with Paraclete XP as the most prominent example, put their strongest participants and player-coaches together in different lineups at each event to take on the most challenging sequences.

Fact is that the 4-way competitors on the ICL top level are facing month by month 6-point sequences with a slot-switching block for the AAA Class sequences. Over the course of the year, each of the six slot-switching blocks (3 - 5 - 10 - 12 - 16 - 17) appears in the AAA Class sequence, most of them came up twice in 2019.

In addition, all other blocks of the 14-foot dive pool are being brought into the ICL game and mixed up in a way that generates 6-point sequences. It is an ongoing serious test of all 4-way skills.

The AA Class sequences are bringing some kind of a relief to the AAA Class competitors. The monthly 5-point sequences of the AA Class could also be drawn in any 4-way Open Class competition at a 10-round meet. The same lineups are often performing these two sequences for the Indoor Cloud League teams.

The 12 different ICL sequences that create the monthly leaderboards in all six ICL categories (AAA - AA - A - RRR - RR - R) and add up to the final annual rankings guarantee that regular participants can practice the complete dive pool throughout the year, while new 4-way competitors learn the basics in the progression through the Rookie Class (R - RR - RRR).

The conclusion of the 2019 season, with a growing number of scores and videos, offers a new and interesting evaluation of the Indoor Cloud League performances. The NSL News created a special ICL team for each of the three technical categories (AAA - AA - A) that performed all 12 sequences.

Result was a 23.3 average in the AAA Class for the 12-round meet with slot-switchers in each round, and after the exhaustion of the complete dive pool. HF Flying Circus (7), HF Cubs (3) and Paraclete XP (2) with different lineups combined for the 23.3 average

The same three teams, plus the Czech HF Chicks, combined for the 24.4 average in the AA Class, where the same 12 sequences could also be drawn for the USPA Intermediate Class competition. The Czech HF Chicks stole one of the highscores from HF Flying Circus (6 - 3 - 2 - 1).

It was no surprise that the AAA Class teams also combined for the AA Class average after the 12 months. The big break is between the AAA/AA combination and the A Class teams, supported by the rule that ICL teams with the same lineup may post scores only for two neighboring categories.

AA/Intermediate Class teams also practice A Class 4-point sequences, which could be drawn at any 4-way Junior or Intermediate Class event, and as they appear each month on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboards. The same situation occurs between A Class and RRR Class. However, sequences and ICL rules together create the most popular AAA/AA and A/RRR combinations.

More teams were involved for the 22.3 average in the A Class. The 12 sequences did not include any "Super Sequence" with only random formations, which are actually drawn quite frequently. The A Class teams of the Indoor Cloud League have the RRR opportunity to practice that part of 4-way competition.

HF Flying Rebels posted six of the 12 highscores, two of the Paraclete XP lineups contributed, together with the Czech M Team for two months. HF Dragonflies and Sky added the last two numbers that added up to the 22.3 average.
