Did You Know...

... that Platinum XP and Bazinga moved from 10th place in 2018 to 1st and 2nd in 2019?

AA/Intermediate Class awards at the USPA Nationals 2019
posted Feb 27th, 2020 - The NSL News published the NSL World Team Rankings of 2019 with the story on January 22nd and compared the results with the 2018 data. The story on January 25th followed up with the indoor rankings.

The world's best AAA Class teams were listed in Top 10 rankings, with links to the complete data. This new update now features the best AA Class teams with their scores and positions.

The AAA Class rankings were a very colorful international mixture on both leaderboards, with teams from eight different nations in the indoor and six in the outdoor Top 10 positions. The AA Class outdoor rankings are more dominated by U.S. teams who took five of the Top 10 spots. German teams follow with three Top 10 positions, Austrian and British teams complete the Top 10 in the AA Class.

The AA Class rankings of 2018 had been more diversified, with teams from six different countries. Only two teams of the 2018 rankings are back on the world's 2019 leaderboard, and they moved up together from the 10th place in 2018 to 1st and 2nd last year. All other teams did not come back or moved up into AAA Class competition.

Dutch Team Red disbanded when team member Rick Verbunt was recruited by the Dutch national 4-way team Out of the Blue for the 2018 season. The Belgian teams Stardust and Ayro continued in the AAA Class in 2019, while FS One sent Neal Willems to complete the Falco lineup in 2019. Caliente from Australia competed in the AAA Class after the 7th place in the AA rankings of 2018.

Only U.S. team Platinum XP and Bazinga from Germany were back in the same category. They were tied in 10th place at the end of the 2018 season and then finished in the two top spots a year later. The other U.S. teams (Carolina Ice XP, Spaceland Toxic, Stockholm Syndrome, Tail Spin XP) finished in a very similar order order at the USPA Nationals 2019.

Stockholm Syndrome won the exciting battle for the 2nd place between the same teams, while nobody came close to Platinum XP.

Most of the other 93 listed AA Class teams of 2019 came from the A or Rookie Class competition of earlier years, or they returned in the same AA category, with a few exceptions.

SCZ ZEUS founder Amer Kassas has taken his current lineup to AAA Class training and competition after the 13th place in the AA Class outdoor rankings of 2019, at least at the later indoor events last year. The upcoming Paraclete XP Indoor Championship will show in which category some of the U.S. teams will be competing this year.

The NSL News will soon follow up with the indoor rankings of the AA Class teams, which are probably totally different, as the 4-way junior indoor experts will join the game then.

Last and not least, the A Class and Rookie Class teams have their own international NSL ranking, as well. 91 teams are listed in the A Class, 29 in the Rookie Class of 2019.

The A Class rankings have 20 more teams compared to 2018. The team in 1st place of the A Class in 2018, Paranodon Futura from Germany, finished in 4th place of the AA Class last year and lost only to Bazinga at the national championships. That's another story...
