The Belgian 4-way world champions switched to outdoor mode right after the Wind Games at the end of January and will not attend any other indoor events until the FAI World Meet in August. The ten rounds at the Wind Games were the last indoor competition with inside center David Grauwels in the active lineup.
The outdoor training at Skydive City last month was the second winter camp after the first visit at the same place in December 2019. HayaBusa had a very short indoor winter season of 2019/2020 with only one competition, the Wind Games. The focus is primarily on the outdoor performance in Tanay, Russia, in August this year.
HayaBusa member Dennis Praet did not return to Belgium after the completion of the February camp, and he had a very good reason. His wife Clementine Le Bohec/Praet was on her way to Florida with the French delegation, and he had to wait only for a week to connect with her in DeLand.
He has been spending time at Skydive DeLand to support his wife and the French training efforts, and he had enough time to meet with the NSL News for a new NSL Live Talk.
David Grauwels joined the conversation on his travels around Europe at the same time. He left Belgium first to visit Prague in the Czech Republic for coaching jobs and then arrived in Warsaw, Poland, for more coaching work.
He connected via ZOOM with team mate Dennis Praet and the NSL News for a conversation that covered the current HayaBusa situation after the Wind Games and in the run-up to the outdoor world meet.
The topics included an evaluation of the two strongest U.S. teams, Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP, who both attended the Wind Games in Spain and then the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship, as well.

In fact, Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP both outscored NMP PCH HayaBusa totally unexpected in the first round of the Wind Games, which was like a wake-up call, Dennis Praet said. Yet it took four more rounds until HayaBusa reacted to the pressure by picking up the pace. Airspeed were still only one point behind after Round 4.
The 4-way world champions will surely not take the defense of their outdoor title easily this year, when SDC Rhythm XP will challenge them in Russia. HayaBusa with David Grauwels and Arizona Airspeed will never face each other again, only with the original HayaBusa member on camera.
Last and not least, the corona virus and its impact on the skydiving world was an ongoing topic during the conversation. It seems that none of any upcoming events is guaranteed at this point in time, and traveling to and from events is becoming increasingly difficult. FAI/ISC delegate David Grauwels had no information whether the upcoming indoor world cup will take place or not...
