posted Mar 16th, 2020 - The NSL News had introduced a new Norwegian 4-way project with the story on 9 August 2019. It was an update from Norway after last year's national championships, where the All Star Team won, with 4-way and 8-way veterans Pål Kolbenstvedt and Kjetil Nordin in the lineup.

Pål Kolbenstvedt is also a former member of the legendary national 4-way team DeLand Norgies, who won three sets of FAI world meet bronze medals, consecutively in 1999, 2001 and 2003. His DeLand Norgies team mate Carl-Erik Tuv initiated the FS2020 4-way project, with the goal to bring back Norwegian presence at FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving, ten years after the last appearance at the 2010 event in Menzelinsk, Russia.

Two teams were selected for the project, and Carl-Erik Tuv's daughter Christiane Sørfjord Tuv was a member of the A Class team Volare FS2020.

The second team, Agera FS2020, started in the AAA Class and finished behind the All Star Team in 2nd place. Agera then followed up at the ESL Championship 2019 in September, where Pål Kolbenstvedt substituted for Kristoffer Thorstensen, who was not available for the meet in Germany.

Agera FS2022 at Skydive DeLand last week
It was a successful start for the Norwegian 4-way comeback, and it did not take too long until the duration of the project was extended by two years. The name of the AAA Class team has now changed to Agera FS2022.

Agera FS2022 recently completed a training camp at Skydive DeLand with coach Solly Williams. They completed 100 training jumps on the last training day, and the NSL News had the opportunity for a new NSL Live Talk with all team members before the departure next day.

The Norwegian team had arrived in the United States before the U.S. government issued the travel ban for visitors from Europe, and they completed their training camp on the same day when the French 4-way and 8-way delegation received orders from France to return to their homeland immediately. The French teams and Agera FS2022 all had their last day in DeLand together on Friday last week.

The Agera members were happy with the number of training jumps in the 3-week camp and with the results of the training. They are aiming at a 16-point average level this year, and the 100 training jumps are a promising foundation for the 2020 progression.

DeLand Norgies at the Norwegian Nationals 2017
Agera FS2022 plan to follow up with 200 more outdoor training jumps and additional indoor training time at the new wind tunnel in Oslo. They are also involved with other participants in Carl-Erik Tuv's FS2022 project.

Each Agera member is guiding another team through training and competition this year. They committed to the additional parts of the project in return for the support that is offered to the selected teams. Team member Kjetil Viste Levik explained that their plan is to create a healthy and strong foundation for the selection of new members for the national project teams.

The DeLand Norgies and their success are still well known, and they are role models in the Scandinavian country. The team members are still active, and the NSL News reported on 5 November 2019 that the Deland Norgies were back in 8-way action.

The Agera FS2022 members said that there might even be another DeLand Norgies reunion at the national championships this year. They had posted an 18.4 average at the last reunion at the Norwegian Nationals 2017. It would be a tough job and next to impossible for Agera FS2022 to win their first Norwegian 4-way title if the Norgies are coming back - they never surrender...
