Did You Know...

... that Morgan Womble re-joins Paraclete XPG4?

XPG4 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020
posted Mar 20th, 2020 - Friday was supposed to be the first day of the Shamrock Showdown 2020, which would have featured world-class 4-way and 8-way competition at the beginning of the outdoor competition and world meet season. The NSL News then reported last week that the event will not take place, due to the impact of the corona virus.

The visiting teams are back in their home countries, while the U.S. teams had no reason any longer to make the trip to Skydive City in Florida.

The Shamrock Showdown was supposed to conclude a 2-week training camp of Airspeed XP8, who are now still in outdoor and indoor action at Skydive Paraclete XP in Raeford, North Carolina. With Airspeed XP8 members Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings already present and in training action in Raeford, XPG4, the new U.S. national indoor team in 4-way Women, uses the same camp for their own training, as well.

The lineup is not the same any longer though, as the NSL News reported it on January 18th. Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings had trained with Irina Meshcheryakova and Tamara Bartlett at that time and competed with this lineup at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020. The NSL News reported the 4-way Women part of the event on March 10th.

XPG4 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2019 - FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 - Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020
26.2 and bronze medals at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019
Original XPG4 member Morgan Womble had discontinued after the 2018/2019 indoor season to focus on her professional career, after winning the 4-way Women bronze medals with XPG4 at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 with an impressive 26.2 average. Katrina Autry Shows was the 4th XPG4 member at Weembi Lille.

Morgan Womble had joined XPG4 at the end of the 2018 season. She was in the original Phoenix XP lineup (Christine Bruchac, Lauren Byrd, Amanda Lampton, Elliot Byrd on camera) who qualified as the U.S. national team in 4-way Women for the FAI World Meet 2018 at the USPA Nationals 2017.

She missed the world meet after an injury at the beginning of the 2018 season and was the alternate in Australia, where Phoenix XP, with substitute Megan George in her slot, missed the bronze medal position by two points.

Morgan Womble was compensated for her bad luck in 2018 when Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings invited her and Katrina Autry Shows to train and compete with XPG4, and the result was the 3rd place behind French Weembi Girls and NFTO at the indoor world meet.

New XPG4 lineup in training action

Morgan Womble then took her break and joined teams for training and competition only randomly in 2019, while she continued to manage Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League events, together with Lauren Byrd. Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings had a busy 2019 agenda with XP8 anyway, who were dealing with Russia and France as very strong opponents in 8-way.

However, they still decided to re-activate XPG4, as the NSL News reported on January 18th, a few months less than a year after the bronze-medal finish at the indoor world meet.

In the meantime, Morgan Womble was back in action and also competed with several lineups at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020 (Lucky Chris, Dramatic Pause in 4-way - Aviatrixx in 8-way). She was even ready for more, while Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings were still experimenting with their new XPG4 lineup, who attended their first competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship.

Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings were naturally excited to know that Morgan Womble was ready for more 4-way action, after their short and very successful experiences together in 2018/2019. They re-considered the 2020 lineup after the ten indoor rounds at Paraclete XP and invited their original team mate back into the lineup in Tamara Bartlett's slot, while Irina Meshcheryakova continues. This week was the first training camp for the new XPG4 lineup.
