posted Mar 25th, 2020 - Befokte Dose competed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020 with one of the event's most interesting lineups.

It was a combination of highly experienced international Formation Skydiving competitors, who have known each other from training and competing together for years in different teams, with one exception, British 4-way competitor Hari Ganapathy.

David Grabowski and Andre Van Heerden trained and competed together for Lite XP between 2017 and 2019. Lite XP, with Kim Hollander and Katrina Shows in the lineup, peaked at the USPA Nationals 2019 with a 17.9 outdoor average and have not come back as a team afterward.

Alex Jordaan and Andre Van Heerden were both members of the South African national 4-way team Savolo in the team's first year and then again at different times. They trained and competed together in 2012, with Bailey Edmunds and InTime co-founder Dirk Venter in the lineup. They were back together two years later, this time as the South African national team in 4-way Open at the in Prostejov 2014, and with Amy Kirtland for Dirk Venter. Alex Jordaan continued with Savolo until March 2018, while Andre Van Heerden had joined Lite XP after the end of the 2016 season.

David Grabowski, Alex Jordaan and Andre Van Heerden competed together for the first time when Alex Jordaan filled an open slot for Lite XP at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2017, and again at the SkyVenture New Hampshire Indoor Championship 2019.

The Lite XP/Savolo combination (David Grabowski, Alex Jordaan, Andre Van Heerden) then invited Hari Ganapathy to complete the Befokte Dose lineup at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship, which added even more international atmosphere to the team environment. Hari Ganapathy was a team member of ACM Weembi, the British national indoor team in 4-way Open at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019.

ACM Weembi was an indoor and outdoor team in 2015 and 2016 before focusing exclusively on indoor training and competition. Original ACM member Hari Ganapathy is currently working in the Unites States and joined Befokte Dose for the indoor competition at Paraclete XP.

David Grabowski, Alex Jordaan and Andre Van Heerden did not get enough 4-way rounds at Paraclete XP with only Befokte Dose. Their team mate of the Flying Spaghetti Monsters at this year's SkyVenture New Hampshire event, Roger Cunha, was also in Raeford and ready for more 4-way action.

The Flying Spaghetti Monsters were first in the Paraclete XP flying chamber, as the Advanced Class teams (AAA) were following the Intermediate Class competition (AA), and the Open Class teams (AAA) concluded each round, with Befokte Dose at the very end of each rotation. Flying Spaghetti Monsters improved their meet average significantly (20.0) in the 16-foot flying chamber, after an 18.7 in the 12-foot chamber of SkyVenture New Hampshire, and they won the Advanced Class silver medals.

The competition draws for the ten rounds in 4-way Open and 4-way Advanced are identical, and the three Flying Spaghetti Monsters had the opportunity to fly the sequences first in the Advanced Class, and then again in the Open Class. The rear piece (David Grabowski, Alex Jordaan) were in their slots in both lineups. Only outside center Andre Van Heerden had to make room for Hari Ganapathy and moved to the point slot.

Flying Spaghetti Monsters and Befokte Dose eventually joined forces when it came to 8-way competition at Paraclete XP. The Flying Spaghetti Monsters had battled with Vega XP for the top spot on the Advanced Class leaderboard, and they made peace every time the competition switched to the 8-way event.

VegaSpeed FSM8 included the complete lineups of the Flying Spaghetti Monsters and Vega XP, while Hari Ganapathy had time to learn the next 4-way sequences...
