Did You Know...

... that NSL Live Talk features the new XPG4 lineup?

4-way Women bronze medals: XPG4 lineup at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019
posted May 11th, 2020 - The NSL News reported the results of the 4-way Women competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020 on March 10th. Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings had resumed the XPG4 action with a new lineup after a year-long break. They had won the bronze medals at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 with Morgan Womble and Katrina Autry Shows in the lineup.

Tamara Bartlett and Irina Meshcheryakova became the new team members in January, and XPG4 was the strongest 4-way Women team and the new national indoor team in this category at the end of February. Barely a month later, the lineup changed again when Morgan Womble was ready to rejoin the team, as the NSL News reported on March 20th.

The new lineup began with 4-way training in March, and they were back for more indoor training last weekend. It was a great opportunity for an update and for a meeting with the team's new lineup. It would be a busy time for Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings, who are also members of the Airspeed XP8 8-way team, as more 8-way training was scheduled for this week.

Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings are in the same situation as Arizona Airspeed members Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine. They all are training and competing in 8-way at the same time, and their 8-way commitments are now extended until August 2021, the new date of the FAI Mondial Tanay 2020.

Indoor qualification: XPG4 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020
Arizona Airspeed and XPG4 both are also not the U.S. national outdoor teams for the FAI Mondial Tanay 2020 next year, even though they are probably the strongest U.S. teams at the moment. SDC Rhythm XP and Aviatrixx will compete for the U.S. delegation in Tanay next year, after their qualification at the USPA Nationals 2019.

However, Morgan Womble and Irina Meshcheryakova, as well as Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall, are ready to continue with their respective teams until the next U.S. qualification for the next FAI Outdoor World Championship of Formation Skydiving. They are already qualified to compete for the United States at the next indoor world meet in April next year.

The U.S. separation of the national indoor and outdoor teams for the next world meets is not intentional. Arizona Airspeed and XPG4 both are outdoor teams, too, as well as SDC Rhythm XP and Aviatrixx compete at indoor meets. In fact, Airspeed and XPG4 are so eager to be ready for outdoor competition that they were training with their full gear at Paraclete XP last weekend. The equipment did not change for Michelle Karamon, Jeana Billings, Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine on Monday, when they continued with 8-way outdoor training.

XPG4 indoor training at Paraclete XP
The new XPG4 lineup was introduced timely by the NSL News, while the opportunity for a new NSL Live Talk with all team members had not occurred yet. The NSL News road trip to the partial reopening of Paraclete XP's windtunnel and skydiving center happened with a perfect timing, as three national indoor teams (Airspeed XP8, Arizona Airspeed, XPG4) and the national outdoor 8-way team were all in training action.

Michelle Karamon, Jeana Billings, Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine were also in the same equipment situation. They were training in full gear on Sunday in the windtunnel and put it back on for the 8-way outdoor training on Monday. Niklas Hemlin was also working with Vega XP on Saturday, another indoor/outdoor team training with complete skydiving gear in the flying chamber. The four Airspeed XP8 members then went indoors after six training jumps on Monday morning, and the XPG4 and Airspeed members could fly without complete skydiving gear for the 8-way indoor training.

Morgan Womble and Irina Meshcheryakova were done with their challenging indoor workout after the 4-way training on Sunday, together with Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall. The NSL News used the same weekend opportunity in Raeford for a new NSL Live Talk with the complete Arizona Airspeed lineup, which will be published were soon.
