Did You Know...

... that Just4Fun won the third 2020 showdown in Finland?

NSL Live Talk with David Grauwels and Pete Allum
posted Jun 19th, 2020 - David Grauwels and Pete Allum discussed several topics during their NSL Live Talk conversation on June 3rd. One of them was the next indoor showdown between Just4Fun and Blue Steel in Finland. David Grauwels has been coaching Just4Fun, while Pete Allum has helped Blue Steel as much as possible in the time of the corona virus crisis and before.

The actual competition at the Fööni windtunnel in Helsinki took place on Wednesday, and David Grauwels won the coaching contest for the third time, after the previous two meets in January and March. Once again it was a very exciting battle that concluded with a 3-point advantage for Just4Fun, after a 1-point thriller in March.

Both Finnish teams were not able to increase their scoring levels beyond their respective record averages, even though Just4Fun were only held back by the eight point deductions. The team's pace was faster compared to the previous meets. Blue Steel had a completely clean scoresheet after the ten rounds.

4K was the third Finnish team in Helsinki visiting the windtunnel for a competition.

Back on 26-average level: HF Cubs
At the same time on Wednesday, the Czech teams concluded their 2019/2020 indoor season at the Hurricane Factory. The 6th Czech Tunnel League competition brought 11 teams to the windtunnel in Prague. It was the 5th indoor competition in the Czech Republic this year, despite the corona virus break between March and June, including the Czech Indoor Nationals in January.

The HF Cubs had only missed the March meet when the virus had just reached the Czech Republic and before the Hurricane Factory was shut down. They came back on the same 26+ scoring and performance level after the 3-month break.

Most of the other Czech 4-way team attended all five indoor meets this year, and the senior teams will now turn to outdoor training and competition.

Jan Klapka will continue to use the summer break for training and recruiting purposes with the Czech 4-way junior teams, and the Indoor Cloud League events still offer the opportunity to post scores and videos throughout the summer. The NSL News will follow up soon with more details and the meet videos from the Czech Republic.
