Did You Know...

... that all three Czech 4-way junior teams in the A Class posted new record averages?

First A Class 20+average: HF Chameleons
posted Jun 26th, 2020 - The NSL News covered the Finnish part of the World Tunnel League June competition on June 19th. The scores from the Czech Republic were posted at the same time, as both events took place on the same day this month. The Hurricane Factory provided the meet videos later, and the links have now been added to the scores on the leaderboard.

It was the last indoor league meet and the conclusion of the 2019/2020 indoor season at the Hurricane Factory, which was the 8th year for the Czech Tunnel League. The June meet was also the restart of 4-way activities in the Czech Republic after the restrictions of the corona virus crisis.

Jan Klapka said that his Czech 4-way teams came back in good shape after the long break, even though some of the teams did not have their complete lineups available. The HF Cubs confirmed their indoor top spot with another 26-average performance, which was still and once again too much for HF Flying Circus.

The Czech national outdoor champions still defended their international indoor position successfully against the two teams from Finland, who both have their eyes on HF Flying Circus. The distance between Just4Fun and Blue Steel and the Czech team is still roughly the same as it was in March. The HF Cubs had attended their last indoor meet in February when they won with a 26.1 average.

Team record averagefor Rusalky
The AAA Class teams had their complete lineups available, while the junior teams in the AA Class needed some help from the 4-way seniors.

The HF Dragonflies had only Lada Jirkovska (Outside Center) and Kaja Svejdová (Inside Center) in their June lineup.

HF Cubs members Sabina Cioleková and Karolina Henkova helped out and had 20-round double duties between AAA and AA Class competition. The HF Flying Rebels had their complete lineup available and defended the AA Class top spot successfully.

Senior team 4K from Finland could not keep up with the Czech indoor expert juniors and had a separate duel with the all-female 4-way senior team Mimizemky. This AA Class duel ended with a 1-point advantage for the team from Finland.

All three Czech A Class teams are 4-way juniors, and the June competition features each of them with new respective team record averages. The long break from 4-way training and competition did not seem to have a serious impact on the performance of the youngest and newest 4-way competitors in the Czech Republic.

HF Chameleons - Rusalky - HF Invisible at the June meet of the Czech Tunnel League
Team record average for HF Invisible
The Czech 4-way juniors were alone on the A Class leaderboard, and they had their own battles and challenges. Each of the three teams claimed or tied at least one highscore for a round, even though they were not close to each other at the end.

The HF Invisible juniors needed a substitute, as well, and the third HF Cubs member, Sabina Cioleková, completed a second set of ten rounds in the A Class.

Last and not least, HF Flying Circus member Martina Vavackova was helping Rusalky who were also missing a team member. Martina Vavackova knows all Czech 4-way juniors very well, as she is helping Jan Klapka with the whole project.

Only the HF Chameleons had their complete lineup available, and they improved their performance and scoring level significantly with the team's first 20+ average. Rusalky's 18.8 average would have been enough to take the 1st place at the previous meet that the HF Chameleons won with 17.7 in March.

The Invisible juniors also caught up with the Rusalky performance level in March (16.4) and all three teams have made significant progress in the meantime. The Czech juniors will continue with indoor training, while the HF Cubs try to complete their AFF outdoor training in Most...
