Did You Know...

... that CTR Optimum are not slowing down with the new lineup?

New CTR Optimum lineup
posted Jul 25th, 2020 - The NSL News recently reported from Brazil that the national 4-way team of many years, CTR Optimum, has a new lineup. The update on July 10th introduced new team member Jorge Neto, who has joined his former North Force team mate Alisson Vargas for the new Optimum lineup.

Alisson Vargas was training with Juliana Sé, André Ferraz and George Narita after Daiton Ribeiro stepped back. This lineup did not post any scores, due to the cancellations of all originally scheduled indoor events of the Brazilian Tunnel League.

The new lineup, with former North Face team mates Jorge Neto and Alisson Vargas, together with the returning Optimum members André Ferraz and George Narita, have neither attended any indoor or outdoor meets yet. They were at least able to launch their indoor training at iFLY Sao Paulo, and the team recently published a video that is showing the potential of the new lineup.

The new CTR Optimum lineup is aiming at the 17.2 outdoor average in a 10-round meet that Fábio Diniz, André Ferraz, Guillermo Gorg and Daiton Ribeiro posted in 2012. However, it seems like it will not take too long until the highest Brazilian indoor average will also be in jeopardy.

Three times 22.8 average: previous CTR Optimum lineup
The same CTR Optimum lineup that competed for Brazil at the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2018 in Australia (Juliana Sé, André Ferraz, George Narita, Daiton Ribeiro) posted 22.8 averages three consecutive times at the indoor meets of the Brazilian Tunnel League in December 2018, April and June 2019.

The new lineup that picked up their indoor and outdoor training this month seems to be on a performance and pace level that is already beyond the one of the previous lineup. The video is showing performances of fast sequences and features the team at its best.

However, the edited version of the original recordings provides enough evidence that the new team members keep up with the performance level of the returning Optimum members.

In the video summary, new inside center Jorge Neto has no problem to control the pace in his new CTR Optimum slot. Tail George Narita has to be just as sharp as he was used to with his previous rear piece partner Juliana Sé.

The front piece, with Jorge Neto's former North Face team mate Alisson Vargas and CTR Optimum co-founder André Ferraz, have had more training time together than the rear piece since Alisson Vargas joined the team at the beginning of this year in the point slot. CTR Optimum have enough time to get ready for the next indoor meet in September and the challenge of the 22.8 record average.
