Did You Know...

... that an Airspeed XPG4 combination produced world-class ICL scores for July?

Airspeed XPG4 for Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League team in July
posted Aug 5th, 2020 - The 2020 leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League is still not a very pretty sight, and it will probably improve only by little. However, the July competition had at least more to offer than the time period between April and June.

January and February still had complete numbers on the 14+ leaderboard, before the impact of the corona virus crisis became visible with the decreasing Indoor Cloud League participation. The Hurricane Factory was not in operation for only one month, and the ICL scores and videos are usually generated by training teams in the Czech Republic, while the ICL activities in the United States are mostly part of events for larger groups of participants.

Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League team now had a comeback after a 3-month break, and it generated one of the highest monthly totals since Paraclete XP joined the Indoor Cloud League in 2017. The 139 points for July were 22 points more than the Czech total for the same month. Once again, Paraclete XP's scoring lineups on the July leaderboard came from a group of participants on the event day last month, while organizers Morgan Womble and Jeana Billings were assisted by two more world-class competitors.

Morgan Womble and Jeana Billings had their XPG4 team mate Irina Meshcheryakova in the lineup for the AAA/AA sequences, and new Arizona Airspeed member Christopher Kuhlmann took the 4th slot. This combination alone combined for a total of 63 points on the Paraclete XP account for July.

XPG4 in training at Paraclete XP
Morgan Womble said that there were several new Indoor Cloud League participants at the July event. Two of the new 4-way competitors posted the scores for two of the three Rookie Class sequences (R - RR), and two other new ICL participants scored the 20-pointer in the RRR Class.

Teenager Sidney Sturman was one of the new ICL competitors in the RRR lineup, who had little tunnel time before her first ICL event. Her aunt Kris Ward was also her team mate in the same lineup. Both work at Paraclete XP, and Morgan Womble will carefully watch their progression together.

Morgan Womble also said that the complete A Class lineup, who generated the July highscore for Paraclete XP, are all outdoor instructors and/or videographers at Skydive Paraclete XP.

XPG4, the U.S. indoor champion in 4-way Women after the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020, was in training at Paraclete XP when the Indoor Cloud League event took place. The NSL News visited shortly later and will soon follow up with a new interview of all team members and video footage of the recent training.

The Indoor Cloud League event was also a reunion of two former Ranch 2nd Generation members who were separated when Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine invited Joey Marshall and Christopher Kuhlmann to join Arizona Airspeed after the end of the 2019 season. Christopher Kuhlmann is an original R2G member, and Jeana Billings spent the 2019 season with the U.S. 4-way shooting stars.

Morgan Womble, Jeana Billings and Irina Meshcheryakova are well trained together, and Christopher Kuhlmann fit in easily for the AAA/AA sequences. He is Airspeed's new inside center and took Michelle Karamon's XPG4 slot for the two Indoor Cloud League sequences. He was outside center, across of Michelle Karamon, when they trained and competed together with Ranch 2nd Generation between 2016 and 2019.

Jeana Billings was in the tail slot for Ranch 2nd Generation and has moved to outside center for XPG4. She is also in the Airspeed XP8 lineup, together with Michelle Karamon. Jeana Billings, Michelle Karamon and Christopher Kuhlmann won the USPA 8-way title together last year and also competed at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019. All three XPG4 members were in their A-slots for the two ICL sequences, and result were two world-class scores and a total of 63 points.
