The new NSL Live Talk took place in the conference room of his current work place at Performance Designs where he has spent the last 14 years in the marketing department.
The same story included the video of an interview with Ed Scott at his first USPA Nationals. Albert Berchtold was behind the camera where he prepared and managed the newly invented NSL/PD TV shows of the event. He found the copy of one of the daily news updates in his own archives, where Kolla Kolbeinsdóttir and Morten Pedersen anchored the show that included regular NSL News updates and interviews, as well.
Today's NSL Live Talk introduced the new USPA Executive Director even before he begins his work at the USPA headquarters in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Ed Scott was in his second year for USPA at the time of the USPA Nationals 2008. Albert Berchtold's family has just moved from DeLand, Florida, to the new location, and he will follow soon to spend as much time together with Ed Scott before taking over the executive reigns.
Albert Berchtold won his own USPA silver medal with the 2nd place in the 4-way Advanced Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2011. Start 4 needed a team videographer on a short call, and Albert Berchtold's colleague at Performance Deigns, Gilles Dutrisac, convinced him to take the new job in the camera slot.
Start 4 was tied with Fallout in 2nd place after Round 10. Albert Berchtold went into a jump-off round against his former Ranch Fusion team mate Dave Grabowski and won. Spaceland Lite, Dave Grabowski's next team, won USPA's Advanced Class gold medals in 2011.
The NSL-TV video is featuring the competition between Start 4 and Fallout, with Albert Berchtold on camera for Start 4.

USPA decided earlier this year that the U.S. delegation for the FAI Mondial 2020 in August next year will be the same as it was selected and announced after the completion of the USPA Nationals 2019. Later, Skydive City decided that they cannot host the national championships this year, as the NSL News reported on July 31st.
USPA considered all options and collected feedback from the membership and other sources for a while until the Board of Directors finally decided yesterday that there will be no USPA Nationals in 2020. Albert Berchtold provided some insights on this topic during the NSL Live Talk today.
The national championships this year would not have had an impact any longer on the U.S. delegation for 2021. However, it was still a difficult decision to make, as Albert Berchtold said. There were many different angles and opinions how to deal with the situation. He voted as the National Director, probably for his last time. Beginning next year he will have to execute the decisions of the USPA Board in the future, and a new National Director will take his position in the board.
