Did You Know...

... that okay is enough with Vega XP?

New Vega XP lineup with coach Niklas Hemlin
posted Sep 18th, 2020 - The recent updates related to Vega XP's new lineup came to a conclusion for now after a new NSL Live Talk with all team members. Now the only missing pieces are videos of the team in 4-way action.

The storyline began with the update on September 8th when Annie and Ian Drennan informed the NSL News that Vega XP will come back with a new lineup. The same story provided a short overview of the team's history.

The details of the new lineup were not officially announced at that time, and the NSL News followed up a few days later when all team members had confirmed their commitments and plans. Andre Van Heerden and James Hall are the new Vega XP members, and the story introduced them with more details of their careers as 4-way competitors.

Last step for the NSL News before the start of actual 4-way training was a meeting with the complete team for NSL Live Talk, which is still only possible with the help of online platforms. Once again, the new NSL Live Talk was recorded on ZOOM and is now available for reviews on the NSL-TV YouTube channel.

Distance is not an obstacle for online meetings. Andre Van Heerden tuned in from New York City, James Hall from Orlando, the Drennan family is home in the northern part of Georgia, and team videographer Joss Martin lives in North Carolina.

It was still a challenging situation getting all team members together at the same time for the online meeting.

Annie Drennan was on her way driving back home, and she was still prepared to join the meeting. The internet connection in her car was strong enough to allow her participation in the meeting.

It was not the same for Joss Martin, who was also connected to his team mates throughout the whole meeting. However, his internet situation allowed him only an audio connection for the meeting.

All five Vega XP members were eventually available for NSL Live Talk, and the management of the challenging logistics was a promising test for the 4-way training and competition once it will begin.

The conversation with the complete lineup provided more insights of how the team members met each other and then formed the new lineup. Annie and Ian Drennan founded Vega XP in 2015, and videographer Joss Martin is now filming the team in his third year.

Ian Drennan and James Hall have known each other for a few years. Ian Drennan said that he always felt like he would enjoy having James Hall as a team mate. He did not have to think twice to ask him again when the open slots required a new recruiting effort for him and his wife.

Andre Van Heerden did not have any plans after his time with Lite XP when he heard from Ian Drennan. He said that he has been in the front piece for the last 15 years, and a move to the tail slot in the rear piece would be a welcome change in his 4-way career. Ian Drennan will be his piece partner.

James Hall was even more ready for his new team than Annie and Ian Drennan may have expected and hoped for. He wore a Vega XP shirt during the NSL Live Talk, and he explained why "okay is good enough". James Hall is going back to the outside center slot that he had with Redline XP, USPA's AAA/Advanced Class champions of 2019. The NSL News will hopefully soon be able to follow up Vega XP 4-way videos.
