Did You Know...

... that Paraclete XP won the Indoor Cloud League in September?

Rookie Class lineup with Worgan Womble (2nd from left) and Irina Meshcheryakova
posted Oct 6th, 2020 - The NSL News mentioned on October 2nd how close the 4-way Open Class part (AAA/AA) of the Indoor Cloud League was in August. The world-class scores for the two sequences, coming from Hurricane Factory, Paraclete XP and ICL Midwest, were promising more high-level performances for September and the upcoming months.

The same three teams who posted the scores and videos for the August competition (XPG4, HF Cubs and SDMW NEXT) were back in September for a similar exciting online showdown.

The Czech HF Cubs were first with their scores and videos on the ICL September leaderboard, even though they did not train much last month, due to the resurgence of the corona virus in the Czech Republic. However, both videos were still showing an impressive performance by the very young team.

The ICL Midwest team followed up soon and outscored the Hurricane Factory (130 - 123) for the September sequences. SDMW NEXT, with new member Gorka Amian in the lineup, tied the HF Cubs in the AA Class (22) and finished three points ahead for the slot-switching AAA sequence (26 - 23).

Last and not least, the third of the three ICL powerhouses submitted the six scores and videos for the month of September, and the complete XPG4 lineup was once again performing the two Open Class sequences.

SDMW NEXT had finished only one single point behind XPG4 in August for the total of the two sequences. This time, the well-trained XPG4 lineup of 2020 took care of business and won in both categories, with a total difference of five points to SDMW NEXT. XPG4 had included the two ICL sequences in their last indoor training camp before Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings would leave town and travel to Arizona for the next 8-way outdoor training camp with Airspeed XP8.

XPG4 had run an Indoor Cloud League camp earlier that was open for any interested participants. The scores and videos for the other four sequences were generated at this event, and all four XPG4 members were also player-coaching the other three lineups to the September highscores.

The internal Paraclete leaderboard is showing only the lineups who posted the highest scores in each category, even though several additional participants are performing the same sequences. The four XPG4 members are preparing all participants during the training day before they take on the ICL sequences.

International 4-Way FS Skydiving Championships in Eloy in November
The XPG4 world-class scores for September and the highscores for the two Open Class sequences are not really a great surprise considering the history of the team. Three team members (Michelle Karamon, Jeana Billings, Morgan Womble) are still reigning bronze medalists of the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 where they finished with a 26.2 average.

They took a break until the beginning of the 2020 season before Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings came back with Tamara Bartlett and Irina Meshcheryakova and a 21.5 average at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship in February. A month later, Morgan Womble could not resist any longer and replaced Tamara Bartlett in the tail slot.

The three FAI bronze medalist team mates of April 2019 have been in training ever since with Irina Meshcheryakova, and the performance level seems to be back on the indoor world championship level, or even beyond.

XPG4 are showing every month what they have to offer at this point in time, and they will also compare their performance and scoring level with other world-class teams, including the French national team in 4-way Women, at the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020. Then they plan to follow up in November with a live outdoor meet at Skydive Arizona, the International 4-Way FS Skydiving Championships that the NSL News will cover live from Skydive Arizona.
