posted Nov 5th, 2020 - The NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 was actually an 11-round competition. Goal was to exhaust the complete dive pool and challenge the teams with the most realistic and ultimate test.

Matt Davidson mentioned during the NSL Live Talk with Jeremie Rollett that two of the fastest blocks in the 8-way dive pool (4,16) came in Round 11 by the coincidence of the draw. The French 8-way team did not get to complete the additional sequence, which is usually reserved for a potential jump-off round.

The final standings at any live competition are always defined by the maximum number of rounds that all teams completed. It has happened several times in the history of world meets and world cups that a competition round could not be completed due to meteorologial or any other reasons, and the 8-way competition of the NSL Cloud Mondial would have the final standings after Round 10.

However, Airspeed XP8 and Airbus both performed the 11th sequence, and the scores and videos of the additional round have now been added to the leaderboard for informational purposes only. In fact, the whole online competition ran under the main purpose of offering teams and audience a new and deeper look into Formation Skydiving competition in the times of the corona virus pandemic.

The NSL News is now turning to the 4-way competition of the NSL Cloud Mondial, which is promising at least the same exciting situation on the top of the leaderboard as in 8-way - if this is possible. It will be challenging to beat the 2-point battle between Airspeed XP8 and France.

In fact, many Formation Skydiving competition experts are expecting the 8-way competition at the FAI Mondial 2020 in Tanay next year to become the main and most exciting event. However, it will be impossible in Russia next year to match the quality of the NSL Cloud Mondial, where not only the national 4-way teams are on the leaderboard.

Especially the next U.S. showdown between Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP will not be a part of the FAI Mondial 2020, where NMP PCH HayaBusa will have to defend their title only against one of the two best U.S. teams.

The 4-way leaderboard of the NSL Cloud Mondial will feature arguably the currently four strongest 4-way teams in the world. Only the French 4-way Open Class team, bronze medalists in Australia 2018, will not participate with the new lineup, as they focus mainly on 8-way training and competition.

NMP PCH HayaBusa will probably be seriously challenged by the two U.S. teams beginning tomorrow morning. All three teams were training under different conditions since the beginning of the year and the rise of the corona virus pandemic. The Qatar Tigers were locked up for several months without any training and still completed the eleven rounds in time.

The situation is very challenging for the reigning 4-way world champions from Belgium. They have not attended one single competition yet with new inside center Michele Silvi. David Grauwels, now on HayaBusa camera, was still in the active lineup that competed at the team's last meet, the Wind Games.

SDC Rhythm XP are in exactly the same situation, while Arizona Airspeed completed two indoor meets with the new lineup and added regular outdoor training throughout the 2020 season.

There is an enormous pressure on the new HayaBusa lineup and new member Michele Silvi. NMP PCH HayaBusa has been undefeated in any outdoor competition since December 2014. It was the Canadian team Evolution who outscored the Belgians the last time at the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship, almost six years ago. SDC Rhythm XP finished three points behind NMP PCH HayaBusa in Dubai. The first scores and videos of the NSL Cloud Mondial's 4-way competition will be posted tomorrow morning.
