Did You Know...

... that ten A Class teams competed at five different locations?

No reason to hide: Skydive City team ZEAL
posted Nov 17th, 2020 - Similarly to the AA Class competition of the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020, a total of ten teams performed the A Class sequences at five different locations and at different times. The Southern California Skydiving League did not have any teams in this category at the October meet, and two teams from the Northern Plains held off the three A Class teams of the Midwest Skydiving League.

Two farm teams of Skydive Paranodon's Futura 4-way project in Illertissen, Germany, battled with Florida's Skydive City home team ZEAL and two Texas Skydiving League teams for the top spots.

The adjusted leaderboard is showing the teams in the rankings only after the two rounds that could be completed in Germany. ZEAL was the only A Class team that also submitted additional rounds for the A Class leaderboard of the NSL Cloud Mondial. The Florida team lifted the meet average from 6.0 after six rounds in June to 7.5 after the ten A Class rounds of the online competition.

Only one of Paranodon's two Futura lineups and the two teams from Texas finished ahead of ZEAL and had their own 1-point battle for the Top 3 positions.

SPX Toxic Thunder and Woolly & The Mammoths!, with TSL Director and player-coach Scott Latinis in the lineup, were tied after the first two rounds. They were actually still tied after Round 5 and had their own jump-off in Round 6.

Airbus indoor training before the next shutdown in Germany
Paranodon's Futura team finished only one point behind the two Texas teams after the two rounds that were completed in Germany. The Futura project seems to work well, as it produced already a 4-way competitor who was recruited for higher competition levels earlier this year.

The NSL News reported on August 23rd that Airbus had asked former Futura member Felix Pfeiffer to join the team. Airbus is aiming at taking back the 4-way top spot in Germany with the new lineup and in the longer term. The new Airbus team posted their own AAA Class scores and videos for ten rounds on the NSL Cloud Mondial leaderboard.

The two Texas teams had decided to meet in the middle for a competition on the A Class leaderboard at the Dallas Super Cup. Toxic Thunder stepped down after competing in the AA/Intermediate Class at the USPA Nationals 2019, while Scott Latinis introduced the Woolly & The Mammoths! members to the A Class dive pool. A new NPSL Blue lineup also competed for the first time in the A Class.

As Scott Latinis did in Texas, SDC Rhythm XP member Steve Lefkowitz introduced three Midwest Skydiving League teams to the A Class sequences, and he was in two of the lineups. Three teams from Texas had the leaderboard for themselves in the Rookie Class.
