posted Nov 25th, 2020 - CTR Optimum, the Brazilian national indoor and outdoor 4-way team, was one of the last teams to finish the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020. In fact, the last rounds were almost a live event for CTR Optimum, as they completed the eleven rounds during the very last days of the event's time-frame, together with SDC Rhythm XP.

Both teams were then back in outdoor action, barely a week after completing the NSL Cloud Mondial rounds. SDC Rhythm XP traveled to Arizona for the 4-Way FS Skydiving Championships in Eloy, CTR Optimum had the national outdoor championships on the meet agenda.

The NSL Cloud Mondial served as a great test for the Brazilian team, right before the country's most important 4-way competition. SDC Rhythm XP and CTR Optimum both could also enjoy an easier competition draw for their second meet within this short time period.

The 11-round draw for the NSL Cloud Mondial included all six blocks that create slot-switchers, which appeared in six different rounds and created six mentally challenging sequences. SDC Rhythm XP then enjoyed a new competition draw with two Super Sequences in Eloy, including only three slot-switching rounds. The new 27.6 team record average was the result of the faster 10-round draw.

CTR Optimum and Cometas at the Brazilian Outdoor Nationals 2020

CTR Optimum almost copied the SDC Rhythm XP performance and finished only three points behind their own Brazilian 17.2 record average. The NSL News had mentioned on July 25th that the new CTR Optimum lineup is aiming at wiping out the 8-year old record number as soon as possible.

The national team actually needed their peak performance level to win this year's championship title. There was a serious and unexpected challenger this week. The Cometas are a 4-way team of the Brazilian military, and they had used their unlimited resources to be well prepared for the national championship.

The Cometas tested CTR Optimum throughout the first five rounds and were one point ahead of the defending champions before a failed exit in Round 6 brought the challenge to an end. CTR Optimum was 14 points ahead after the Cometas disaster in Round 6 and never had to look back any longer. The Brazilian Nationals 2020 include an 8-way competition, as well, and the NSL News will follow up soon.
