Did You Know...

... that Airspeed had the best start in the most important Round 1?

SDC Rhythm XP preparing - SDMW NEXT studying
posted Feb 27th, 2021 - The 4-way competition is over on Saturday at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021, and the 8-way teams came to action in the afternoon.

Six rounds were completed in four of the 4-way events (Open, Advanced, Intermediate, Rookie), and the 4-way VFS teams shared the flying chamber with the 8-way teams in the afternoon.

The NSL News mentioned earlier that Round 1 would get special attention. The topic of any meet opener has been discussed several times at NSL Live Talk with the most experienced competition experts in the world. They all had the same experiences and conclusions. Round 1 is special and brings a challenge like no other round.

Arizona Airspeed's Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall confirmed this once again when they were done with their competition day and met with the NSL News to share their experiences and insights of the first meet day. Their team mates Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine, together with a large number of other 4-way competitors, continued with 8-way competition in the afternoon. The interview with the two newest Airspeed members will be posted as soon as possible.

Arizona Airspeed at Paraclete XP: Out of reach?

XPG4 extended the distance to Aviatrixx to 26 points after Round 6. There is no doubt that they will defend the 4-way Women title successfully with the new lineup. Christopher Kuhlmann and Joey Marshall also said that they enjoy seeing their former Ranch 2nd Generation team mate Brenn Richards back in successful and very promising 4-way action.

SDC Rhythm XP had to watch Arizona Airspeed pull away in the first five rounds. Airspeed won last year's indoor championship title by eight points over Rhythm's previous lineup, with JaNette Lefkowitz still in the driver's seat. Today the Airspeed lead is at 14 points after six rounds.

SDC Rhythm XP are actually at a higher scoring level compared to last year at half-time, with an apparently slower competition draw. Arizona Airspeed have lifted their performance level even more and seem to be out of reach. In fact, the Golden Knights' Gold team were challenging Rhythm throughout the first five rounds, and before this run came to a screeching halt in Round 6. The 2-point distance turned into 12 with a 10-point deficit in Round 6 alone.

It was bad timing for the Army's top 4-way team, as Rhythm finally increased the pace and matched Airspeed's 29-pointer in the last round of the day. The 8-way teams have six rounds on their schedule, too.
