Did You Know...

... that InTime and Jim Rees connect teams across the planet for the Shamrock Showdown?

Jump Florida Furtherance lineup in February
posted Mar 17th, 2021 - Agera FS2022 have finally received the royal InTime judging treatment, together with Jump Florida Furtherance, and the eleven rounds of the NSL Cloud Mondial February 2021 now have the professional frame, with the InTime scores and penalty assignments.

Agera held their 20+ average level, even though they launched the complete first formations of the sequences into the flying chamber for the first time. The team members said in the recent NSL Live Talk that they were prepared to accept lower scoring numbers due to the new entry technique.

They did not get much entry coaching before testing the new team skill at the NSL Cloud event. Live coaching has not been an option due to the travel restrictions in Europe. Agera have been working with NMP PCH HayaBusa member Dennis Praet for online coaching, however, they studied Arizona Airspeed's most recent entry techniques and copied them as well as they could.

Jump Florida Furtherance continued with their entry technique to build the first formations as they did in January. Player-coach Bob Byrne was not available for the eleven February sequences, and the team with alternate Sebastian Jimenez in his slot suffered a total of 25 point deductions.

InTime scoring for NSL Cloud Mondial February: Agera FS2022 - Jump Florida Furtherance
Switching quickly to outdoor exits: XPG4
Agera FS2021's indoor entry models of Arizona Airspeed have now arrived at Skydive City in Florida, and they have switched to exits from jump planes. The Shamrock Showdown 2021 is becoming reality, and Round 1 is scheduled for Friday morning.

Arizona Airspeed, XPG4 and Airspeed XP8 had competed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021, where all three teams won their respective U.S. indoor titles. They left indoor training and competition behind quickly and traveled to Eloy for more outdoor training before the Shamrock Showdown.

InTime is once again a major player in the Shamrock Showdown game. Again Claire King and Dirk Venter could not travel to Florida this year, after last year's cancellation of the same event. However, they have developed a new online judging technology in the meantime that will be applied for the first time at Skydive City.

Jim Rees, who was the chief judge at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021, will be live at the Shamrock Showdown, while Claire King and Dirk Venter operate the system live from South Africa. They may have additional international judges in their panel.

Ready for Shamrock Showdown sequences in Europe: Qatar Falcons at Skydive City
The judged and processed videos will be available online for reviews shortly after the completion of the judging procedure. The timing of the actual jumps and the video review option for the audience are expected to be almost the same as at any other outdoor live event.

The new InTime technology is not only allowing a judging panel to work together from different locations on the planet. In the case of a Shamrock Showdown in a corona virus pandemic situation it also offers the option to simulate a live event as much as possible.

There are teams across the skydiving world who might be able by now to resume outdoor training, even if they cannot travel abroad at this point in time. They can participate in the event in a new way that has been proven to work well enough at the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020, for a realistic competition test.

The Qatar Falcons have committed to be a part of the Shamrock Showdown on the 8-way leaderboard while performing the competition rounds in Europe. The 4-way teams of the Qatar delegation may join, as well, and the French 4-way and 8-way teams will try to submit their videos of the same competition draw next week. SDC Rhythm XP will probably be the only U.S. top team missing the Shamrock Showdown at Skydive City and then using the online option next week.
