Did You Know...

... that Sky4LL changed to Sequence and are winning the Danish Outdoor Nationals?

Sky4LL in 2020
posted Jul 9th, 2021 - The NSL News reported on January 16th that the Danish team Sky4LL were planning to challenge the reigning 4-way champions, CISM Denmark, at this year's national championships.

CISM Denmark had won last year's 4-way title by four points over Sky4LL, and team member Hans Linding Oksen explained during the NSL Live Talk with Sky4LL coach Joey Jones how the battle for the 4-way top spot in Denmark between the military and the civilian teams will probably be heating up this year.

This year's national championship is almost completed, and Sky4LL do not even appear on the leaderboard half a year after the NSL News update and the conversation with Joey Jones and Hans Oksen. However, both are very present at the competition, together with Vibeke Birk Tiedemann, Flemming Andersen and videographer Anders Krabbenhøft. It is the same lineup that finished 2nd last year with Sky4LL and Steffen Ramlyng in the lineup.

Joey Jones and Hans Oksen had explained that Ulrik Høgsberg would replace Steffen Ramlyng this year. However, he has not been competing in any of the seven completed rounds this week. Kjetil Nordin has taken his slot instead, and the new lineup is 16 points ahead of CISM Denmark after Round 7.

Sequence this week
The new lineup is not competing under Sky4LL any longer, even though four team members (Vibeke Birk Tiedemann, Flemming Andersen, Hans Linding Oksen, Anders Krabbenhøft on camera) are back in action at the national championship.

It is not the new team member Kjetil Nordin who caused the different team name. He could have brought the name of his former Danish 4-way champion team, Pangaea, into the name game. In fact, Kjetil Nordin, Hans Oksen and Anders Krabbenhøft were team mates when Pangaea represented Denmark at the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2016.

Neither the Sky4LL nor the Pangaea combinations eventually gave the new lineup the name of the team that will most likely win the Danish 4-way title this year. Sequence is actually the longest-standing team name of any of the current team members, which may have won the naming contest.

Vibeke Birk Tidemann is the only remaining Sequence member of the original 2007 lineup. Her 2007 team mate was Ulrik Høgsberg, who was supposed to take the 4th Sequence slot this year, according to the Sky4LL plans that Joey Jones and Hans Oksen explained in January.

Sequence in 2007
The original Sequence combination of Vibeke Birk Tidemann and Ulrik Høgsberg would have made a strong case for the new team name. However, even Vibeke Birk Tidemann alone brought back the Sequence of 2007.

Things have obviously changed since January, and Joey Jones and Hans Oksen plan to provide more information as soon as Denmark's national championships have been completed. Fact is that the four returning Sky4LL members have attracted one of the most experienced Danish 4-way competitors to their team project, Kjetil Nordin.

Vibeke Birk Tiedemann appeared the first time on an NSL News 4-way leaderboard even earlier than with Sequence. She attended the Shamrock Showdown 2006, where the Danish national 4-way team DaneZ competed, as well.

Her future husband Torben Tiedemann was in the same lineup. He joined the Danish 4-way projects, as well, and they trained and competed together with Sequence in 2009 and 2010. Current CISM Denmark member John Petersen was their Last Minute team mate at the Shamrock Showdown 2006. And then there was former Arizona Airspeed member Thiago Gomes completing the lineup. Last Minute won the AA Class competition with their pickup team.
