Did You Know...

... that three Danish A Class teams have taken Top 10 positions?

Danish Outdoor Nationals 2021
posted Jul 15th, 2021 - The recently completed Danish Outdoor Nationals included a field of eight teams on the A Class leaderboard. This was the highest number of Danish A Class teams since 2010 when ten teams competed in this category at the DFU Cup in May.

The A Class has been a part of 4-way competition in Denmark since 2005. The next step after the A Class is the complete FAI/ISC dive pool in the AAA Class.

The Danish teams are used to this bigger step compared to regions and countries where the AA Class offers another stage in between. Subsonic, this year's AAA Class bronze medalists, started in the A Class of 2019 before moving up into the AAA Class world.

Former VAF Warriors member John Petersen explained on March 30th that the Danish military delegation has a second team this year. The CISM 4-way team with five Accuracy competitors would also attend the 4-way competition at the CISM championships and then compete in the A Class at the Danish Outdoor Nationals.

His own AAA Class team CISM Denmark, with the three former VAF Warriors in the lineup, competed at the national championships and were not able to defend their outdoor title this year.

However, the second CISM Denmark lineup won the A Class title convincingly by 20 points after nine rounds.

Two more Danish A Class teams took Top 10 positions in the international A Class rankings. Hey Hallå completed only seven of the nine rounds and were in 2nd place after Round 7. The 9.6 average places Hey Hallå right behind CISM Denmark in 3rd place.

None of the three Danish teams could threaten Paranodon Futura's A Class team in the top spot. However, they had a serious impact on the Top 10 positions of the A Class rankings.

Only two U.S. teams are still in the Top 10, as Toxic Lead was pushed down to the 12th place.

Eggplant and Where's Gabby had to allow CISM Denmark and Hey Hallå to pass them, while the 3rd Danish team Chill, with multiple Norwegian and Danish 4-way and 8-way champion Kjetil Nordin as the player-coach in the lineup, is behind the U.S. teams.

Eggplant and Where's Gabby are still the current top contenders for the first set of USPA medals in the A/Beginners Class.

Arizona Skydiving League directors Eliana Rodriguez and Michelle Karamon still have one more ASL meet scheduled before the USPA Nationals, where both teams can still get another test for the nationals on home turf in October and increase their meet averages.
