posted Jul 27th, 2021 - The latest additions to the combined July leaderboard came from the Triangle Skydiving Center, where the Carolina Skydiving League completed its second meet of the 2021 season.

CASL co-director Jamie Caldwell welcomed three new teams to 4-way competition in the Carolinas, who had not attended any meets this year. Five different teams were at Skydive Carolina in May, where SDC RhEvolution XP had launched their outdoor competition season.

Jamie Caldwell has been managing the Carolina Skydiving League together with SDC RhEvolution XP member Matt Alarif since the beginning of the 2021 season. Matt Alarif was not available last weekend, and his team mate Chris Webb was helping Jamie Caldwell. He player-coached Rookie Class team BurbleHead through the six rounds.

Jamie Caldwell was guiding the second Rookie Class team PepperJack as the player-coach. The third team at Triangle Skydiving, TSC4Way, competed in the AA Class and had Eric Harper with his broad 4-way and 8-way experiences in the lineup.

It was a small meet at Triangle Skydiving with an interesting and larger impact on the July leaderboard. The combined number of teams in the traditional NSL/USPA categories (AAA/Open/Advanced - AA/Intermediate) added up to exactly the same total number of teams in the two categories for the lower experience level (A/Beginner - RRR/Rookie).

AAA and RRR teams both added seven teams to the July leaderboard, and the other two categories generated four teams each, for a total of 11 teams in both halves of the complete rankings. The July leaderboard is still featuring only temporary standings, as new scores will still be added after last weekend's Texas Skydiving League competition.

It will become even more interesting as soon as the July leaderboard is complete, as there are several overlapping sequences. Rounds 6,7,8 and 10 are identical between AAA and AA sequences, and the same counts for Rounds 2 and 3 between AA and A.

Last and not least, the Rookie Class teams performed the same sequences as the A Class in Rounds 1 and 5. The NSL News will follow up with a closer look as soon as the July leaderboard is complete.
