His coaching colleague Gary Smith has a frequent presence in Niklas Hemlin's second NSL TV Unfiltered show, as he was in full work swing after collecting and sending his own footage from Tanay earlier the same morning. The two teams he has been working with, NMP PCH HayaBusa and Qatar Tigers, require his full attention, as the videos are showing.
The best teams in the world are spending a lot of preparation time on the creepers to look into all the details and come to engineering decisions. Niklas Hemlin covered some of the engineering topics in his conversations with NMP PCH HayaBusa and SDC Rhythm XP.
He was observing the HayaBusa work very carefully, not only for his NSL TV Unfiltered show. The event is a great opportunity for him to take a closer look at his biggest opponent in the world. There is a very friendly relationship between the top teams, and NMP PCH HayaBusa neither had a problem with Niklas Hemlin watching their ground work nor with filming it for the audience.
He followed the teams through the different rounds, between creeping sessions, exit practice at the mockup and dirt-diving. The mockup of the L-410 Turbolet jump plane is actually not just a frame that simulates the exit door as realistic as possible. It is a real plane of the identical model that the teams can use for their exit training.
The time that Niklas Hemlin spent with NMP PCH HayaBusa included very casual and friendly conversation, and new member Michele Silvi was a part of it in funny ways. He has replaced 3-time world champion David Grauwels very successfully in the driver's seat (inside center) and is on his way to challenge his own team's highest outdoor meet average in history. Round 1 in Tanay was his first outdoor competition jump with the 4-way world champions.
Then it was time for Niklas Hemlin, 4-way world champion of 2012, to put the camera aside and focus on his own first attempt to become an 8-way world champion. It will be much tougher for him than it is for the Belgians. The 8-way battle with France was tied after two rounds, with Russia closely behind.
