posted Sep 1st, 2021 - Nothing changed in the medal rankings of the British Outdoor Nationals 2021, compared to the previous 4-way championships in 2019. NFTO defended the title successfully, two years later and with the team's new lineup, even though it was a significantly closer battle with Chimera's new lineup.

Eros won the next set of bronze medals with the same lineup, and the British female 4-way competitors are still dominating. Seven of the twelve competitors in front of the cameras, which are operated by three male videographers, have the female majority over the five male team members in the two teams behind NFTO.

NFTO are once again one of the few national 4-way champions in the world who can compete either in 4-way Open or in 4-way Women. France was one of the other countries with the same situation, which may change this year. The French 4-way Open Class team outscored the 4-way Women lineup at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020.

The relationship between the genders in Great Britain becomes even more interesting by adding the team in 4th place to the equation. It was the first time in British 4-way history that two all-female lineups finished in the Top 4 positions. This gives the British female 4-way competitors an even heavier majority in the top area of the AAA Class leaderboard (11 - 5).

Alola - Pajama Pumas at the UK Nationals 2021

4mula had placed in 4th place at the UK Nationals 2019, followed by Pajama Pumas.

Medal contender 4mula did not come back for the national championships this year, and the highest spot behind the medal positions was available for all other teams.

It could have been an opportunity for Pajama Pumas to move up by a slot. However, Alola had continued through the corona virus crisis, as well, and the all-female lineup, with two new members, was one of the few teams who finished with a new record average.

Alola were still far behind Pajama Pumas (11.3 - 14.4) at the national championships in 2019. This did not change (10.8 - 13.7) when both teams competed for the British Formation Skydiving delegation at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019.

However, the world cup in Eloy was still the first time that Alola won a round over Pajama Pumas. The 16-pointer in Round 9 won this internal British duel, after two point deductions for Pajama Pumas.

Pajama Pumas - Alola at the UK Nationals 2019

Alola had just entered the AAA Class world in 2019 with the previous lineup and competed at the two major events of the year. The British Nationals 2021 was the first competition with the new lineup.

Original members Kathryn Campbell and Kat Konstanti both decided to take a break from 4-way training and spend more time with families and for other activities after an intensive year. Sally Uren and Corrie Edgar were looking for two new female team members for the near future. Alola were planning to continue and compete at the next world cup in Norway, which was eventually canceled and rescheduled.

Caroline Vaughan and Emily Aucutt signed up for the new lineup. Kathryn Campbell had recommended her Tr4ck team mate Caroline Vaughan, who had also trained and competed with Helios in between. NFTO member Sian Stokes, who has been coaching Alola, recommended Emily Aucutt who was with Boobasaurus Rex and several indoor lineups before.

The new Alola lineup could not train or compete much in 2020 due to the corona virus implications. They enjoyed the time with the new lineup that they had this year, after the lockdown was lifted in the spring, and they plan to continue next year, as well.
