Did You Know...

... that the September leaderboard had three different winners from three different leagues?

Ian Pedowitz (2nd from left) with Arizona FM
posted Oct 2nd, 2021 - The NSL News update on September 27th covered the Arizona Skydiving League's September meet and provided some interesting details of two of the three ASL teams who competed in the AAA Class, The Jets and AZ Defiance.

ASL co-directors Eliana Rodriguez and Michelle Karamon now also provided the meet videos, which feature the four world meet and world cup champions of earlier years in competition action with The Jets (Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Dan BC, Brian Johnson), and Mark Kirkby with AZ Defiance.

The third AAA Class team from Arizona had additional experienced 4-way competitors in the lineup. Tamara Bartlett trained and competed with XPG4's 4-way Women lineup in 2020, Ian Pedowitz with Arizona FM and ZEUS in 2018. Ian Pedowitz has also joined several pickup teams for ASL meets in the past two years.

The ASL teams dominated the AAA Class leaderboard at the September meet, which was the final test for the host of the USPA Nationals at Skydive Arizona this month, and for the local and regional teams, as well.

Still in 1st place: SDC Rhebellion XP
The Midwest Skydiving League had produced the September winner on the AA Class leaderboard, as the same NSL News update on September 27th pointed out. SDC Rhebellion XP had the lead on the AA Class leaderboard at that time, when the scores from the Midwest and from Arizona were posted.

Now there are eight AA Class teams on the September leaderboard, after the Southern California Skydiving League and the Texas Skydiving League added their scores, and Rhebellion are still in 1st place.

Where's Gabby? represents the Arizona Skydiving League on the AA Class leaderboard after stepping up from their A Class competition in June. Where's Gabby? had started with a different lineup in the AA Class in March this year, and the complete A Class lineup of June decided to take on the additional eight blocks last month.

SDC Rhebellion XP are still the U.S. team with the highest 2021 average in the AA/Intermediate Class, four weeks before the start of the USPA Nationals.

Still in 1st place: Perris Chutists
The third leaderboard features the third team from a different league on the top. Midwest team CSC Constellation had the lead at the time of the update on September 27th, after continuing with a very consistent progression (4.5 - 6.7 - 7.4 - 8.3) since June this year.

The A Class situation changed when Perris Chutists of the Southern California Skydiving League attended their second meet this year, and five more A Class teams added their scores to the September leaderboard.

The Southern California Skydiving League offered only two meets in 2021, and Perris Chutists finished with a 5.6 average in June. It was the same starting month as it was for CSC Constellation, who had posted a 4.5 average at their season opener.

Both teams competed with the same June lineups in September, and Perris Chutists have maintained their top position in the A Class successfully, even extended it to ten points (60 - 50). The same two teams had performed different competition draws in June, then the same ones in September. The next competition will be the national championship, and it will be the same six sequences for both teams - live in Eloy...
