Did You Know...

... that the Southern California Skydiving League has the top contender in the A Class?

Dan BC with The Jets in Eloy
posted Oct 6th, 2021 - Six teams of the Southern California Skydiving League visited Skydive Perris for the second SCSL meet of the 2021 season and added their scores to the September leaderboard.

The AAA Class competition took place without Jerry and the Jets, who used to be at home in Perris, where Airspeed 4-way and 8-way world champion Dan BC is running the operation. They had attended the June meet at Skydive Elsinore, which is operated by another Airspeed 4-way world champion, Josh Hall.

The skydiving centers are only half an hour of driving distance away from each other, and Dan BC could comfortably visit Skydive Elsinore in June with Jerry and the Jets. Josh Hall made the same trip in the opposite direction in September, as he is managing the events of the Southern California Skydiving League, together with Mary SantAngelo.

Josh Hall did not compete this time, while Mary SantAngelo was in the AAA Class lineup of the pickup team Frikken Slot Switchers. She competed with the home team Dan Will Do, which Dan BC guided through the six meet rounds. It was a 1-point battle until Round 5, and Dan BC's team eventually won the SCSL AAA Class competition.

CSC Constellation at the MWSL July meet
Dan BC was on the same AAA Class leaderboard with The Jets, as well.

He had traveled much longer earlier in September to meet Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Brian Johnson and Jets' videographer Craig O'Brien at Skydive Arizona for the September meet of the Arizona Skydiving League.

The travel account of The Jets is evenly balanced now, as the team members traveled exactly the same distances back and forth between Southern California and Arizona. Dan BC won the AAA Class competition in September with The Jets and the internal Perris duel with Dan Will Do.

A similar SCSL duel took place on the AA Class leaderboard, where Perris Fall Risk and Organized Kaos were separated by only two points in their competition for the 3rd place.

Organized Kaos had also attended the June meet in Elsinore with the same lineup, only with a different videographer. They increased their meet average significantly (6.4 - 8.8) which brought them into contention with the Perris team.

Both SCSL teams were closely behind Toxic Thunder in a serious battle for the 2nd place, while SDC Rhebellion XP ran away from the other AA Class teams.

SDC Rheology - SDC Rhebellion XP - Anion Flux in Sebastian
The Perris Chutists then eventually captured one of the top spots in September for the Southern California Skydiving League on their home turf with the impressive 10.0 average. The same lineup had also attended the SCSL June meet in Elsinore, where they finished with a 5.6 average.

It was a strong statement just a month before the USPA Nationals, where the A Class will have its own platform and leaderboard in USPA's 4-way Beginners category. Perris Chutists posted the top average of all U.S. teams in the A Class this year and may try to defend the position at Skydive Arizona at the end of the month.

There they will be facing at least two ambitious teams from the east coast. Midwest team CSC Constellation are looking back at a similar progression as the west coast team, while they have attended two more meets in the same time period.

Skydive Sebastian's home team Anion Flux are also in their final preparations for their first national championships. They shared the Twin Otter in Sebastian with two other teams from the Midwest last weekend. Steve Lefkowitz worked with SDC Rhebellion XP and SDC Rheology to get them ready for the competition. All three teams of last weekend's training camp will post their scores on different leaderboards. Anion Flux will try to keep up with Perris Chutists and CSC Constellation.
