Did You Know...

... that six Czech 4-way teams swept the Flyspot Open in Poland?

Czech 4-way delegation at the Flyspot Open
posted Nov 24th, 2021 - The NSL News reported on November 19th that Jan Klapka would take four Czech 4-way teams on a new field trip to Poland last week and compete at the Flyspot Open indoor competition. The preview provided some details of the Czech teams' history and the results at the previous Flyspot Open in 2019.

It turned out that the Czech delegation in Poland was even larger and consisted of a total of six teams, which actually matched the number of Polish teams.

It became even better for Jan Klapka when four of the six teams won their respective categories, which made it a complete Czech sweep in Poland.

It could be expected that the HF Cubs would win the AAA Class competition, according to the previously and recently posted scores. Poland's national indoor and outdoor team, Flyspot Sky4Four, finished with the highest 10-round average since Joanna Hulboj joined the team in September 2019. It was still not enough to get anywhere close to the still reigning 4-way Junior world champions of 2019, HF Cubs, who had just launched their comeback with a 25.7 average at the beginning of the month on their home turf in Prague.

The complete lineup of the HF Cubs have not been challenged by any team since November 2019 when ISR Fireflash outscored the 4-way juniors by eight points at the ISR Grand Prix 2019. They had to work hard to win the FAI gold medals in 4-way Junior at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019. However, they have not met any of the best 4-way Women teams in the world at a live event yet after the transition into AAA Class competition.

The best 4-way Women teams in the world from Russia, France, United States, Great Britain will have to keep their eyes on the youngest national 4-way team from the Czech Republic. Russia's Bubbles posted a 28.4 indoor average before winning the 4-way Women gold medals at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020.

NFTO (UK) and Nephtys Weembi (FR) posted their last indoor scores at the Wind Games in January 2020, XPG4 (US) finished with 22.7 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021.

The complete lineup of the HF Cubs have a 27.4 average in their records that they posted at the Flyspot Open 2019, half a year after winning the indoor world championship title in 4-way Junior.

Vajca v Hirsti were the only RRR Class team at the Flyspot Open, even though several Polish teams competed in this category earlier this year. The new Czech team completed the sweep without any opposition.

The new Sky 21 lineup won the A Class competition with two strong rounds at the end of the meet. Poland's DARK Team was still in the lead by one point over Sky 21 after Round 9 and three points ahead of Bitches from Hell. The 29-pointer in Round 10 won the 1st place for Sky 21 in the A Class.

Rusalky had to battle for their 1st place throughout the whole 10-round meet with Ladies Power. Both teams won four rounds each and tied two more. Ladies Power, former team of newest Flyspot Sky4Four member Joanna Hulboj, were back in the AA Class to offer opposition for the Czech team.

Rusalky's lineup at the Polish Open was a 2-2 combination of Czech 4-way juniors and seniors. Jan Klapka himself and HF Flying Circus member Martina Vavackova joined forces with junior competitors Lucie Novotná and Alžbeta Opálková and helped them to their highest averages in the AA Class and the 1st place at the Flyspot Open. Martina Vavackova has been coaching the Rusalky junior lineup in training and at their visits to Poland for the Flyspot Liga events.
