Did You Know...

... that the Czech Indoor Cloud League teams finished with their highest 2021 total?

1,567 ICL points in 2014: Czech teams and competitors
posted Dec 25th, 2021 - The Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory submitted scores and videos for the last month of the year, as well, and passed the 1,000-point threshold by two points, after missing the first four months due to the implications of the corona virus crisis.

The ICL 2021 season could have become a record-breaking year for the Hurricane Factory without the pandemic. Even the highest total scoring numbers for the year in 2014 and 2015 (1,567), with totally unlimited scoring opportunities in the Rookie Class categories, would have been in jeopardy this year without the crisis.

With similar scoring numbers for the missing four months as the Czech ICL team has posted in the last three months (144 - 134 - 145) the total for the year could have set a new scoring record in the history of the Indoor Cloud League.

Jan Klapka's indoor team had finished on the top of the annual ICL leaderboards each year since completing the first twelve months in 2014. The Czech teams still maintained the top spot in 2020, even though the Hurricane Factory in Prague was closed for three months. All other ICL teams had their own troubles with the pandemic and missed scores for different months.

1,567 ICL points in 2015: Czech teams and competitors
This year's first four months had an impact that Jan Klapka could not compensate for, and it will be the first year that the Hurricane Factory will not be on the top of the annual leaderboard. The iFLY Dallas team is already 90 points ahead of the Hurricane Factory and will probably be the only ICL team with a complete set of scores for the year.

The circumstances obviously did not allow a fair leaderboard situation in 2020 and 2021, and all scores only serve for orientation, as much as the events offer mostly indoor training opportunities for participating teams and competitors.

However, National Skydiving League, Indoor Cloud League and World Tunnel League will continue to offer the same opportunities in the near future, whether there are challenging circumstances or not. The recovery process will hopefully not take too long for participants, organizers and hosts of all indoor and outdoor events, and the leaderboards will offer once again a load of information.

The total of 145 ICL points for the month of December will probably be the last highscore of the year that the Czech teams combined for together.

Czech 4-way juniors at the Hurricane Factory
The AAA/AA Class competition in the Czech Republic featured once again the duel between the two national 4-way teams, HF Flying Circus in 4-way Open, HF Cubs in 4-way Women. HF Flying Circus had won the first duel when the team returned to indoor training and competition in November.

The HF Cubs have picked up the pace in the meantime, as the results of the Czech 4-way Women team at the 1st Dubai International Tunnel Championship (DIPC) were indicating. They outscored HF Flying Circus in December by a total of four points for the AAA and AA sequences.

The third national team, HF Flying Rebels in 4-way Junior, were only two points short of the 29-pointer highscore by the HF Cubs for the AA sequence. 4-way Junior teams apply only the AA Class dive pool and rules at FAI indoor events, even though some sequences could also be drawn for a AAA Class competition.

Two of the three Czech national teams combined for three of the six December scores, and three other 4-way junior teams took care of the three Rookie Class sequences. 4-way junior team Rusalky have grown out of all Rookie Class categories, while the new HF Dragonflies lineup is still eligible for posting one more RRR Class score next year.
