Did You Know...

... that the Czech Indoor Cloud League team followed up with record participation?

ICL AAA/AA highscores in January: HF Flying Circus
posted Feb 6th, 2022 - The Czech Indoor Open 2022 at the Hurricane Factory in Prague had record participation last month, as the NSL News reported on January 24th. A total of 19 teams competed at the event, with two of them visiting from Hungary (Bronteroc) and Italy (Synergy).

The 17 Czech 4-way teams alone were a new record number for the country's 4-way competition, which translated almost exactly into the Czech participation in the Indoor Cloud League for the same month.

Three of the four Czech AAA Class teams on the 10-round leaderboard took on the two ICL Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) for January, as well, and HF Flying Circus posted the highest scores this time. For a change, the HF Cubs were not even close to the Czech national team in 4-way Open, after winning the Czech Indoor Open by 20 points.

HF Flying Circus and HF Cubs are set for completing their internal Czech duel for the country's indoor top spot at the FAI Indoor World Cup in April. They still have the Czech World Tunnel League and Indoor Cloud League events of February and March as test events before the final indoor showdown in Chaleroi, Belgium.

Indoor Cloud League January 2022 - Hurricane Factory Highscores
ICL A Class highscore in January: HF Chameleons
The number of teams on the Czech Indoor Cloud League leaderboard for January is also the largest one in ICL history. 15 teams competed for the highest scores in the six ICL categories and generated the total of 142 points last month.

Each of the six ICL categories (AAA - AA - A - RRR - RR - R) had at least five Czech teams competing for the honor of posting their scores and videos on the January leaderboard for the Hurricane Factory's ICL group. Five different teams won this internal competition. Only HF Flying Circus were able to claim the highscores for two different and neighboring sequences.

The HF Flying Rebels juniors were back in action after missing the Czech Indoor Open. They are now facing a serious challenge by the other Czech 4-way Junior team who have been posting their scores on the AAA Class leaderboards, even though they are eligible for AA/Junior Class competition.

Jan Klapka had assigned HF Flying Rebels earlier as the Czech national team in 4-way Junior for FAI/ISC events, and the HF Chameleons have not only caught up with their 4-way junior opponents.

ICL RRR Class highscore in January: HF Dragonflies
The Chameleons won all three ICL sequences that both junior teams performed in January (AAA - AA - A). They had posted their highest AAA Class average (17.8) at the Czech Indoor Open and are more than ready to challenge the official national team in 4-way Junior.

Both Czech junior teams will have the same final showdown at the indoor world cup, as HF Cubs and HF Flying Circus will have it on their respective AAA Class leaderboards, Cubs in 4-way Women, Flying Circus in 4-way Open. Jan Klapka confirmed that Flying Rebels and Chameleons both will compete in 4-way Junior at the same event in Charleroi in April.

Flying Rebels and Chameleons will not have to check their scores on different leaderboards, as the 4-way Junior competition at FAI/ISC events does not have a separate leaderboard for only female competitors. Together they will try to defend the 4-way Junior top spot that the HF Cubs took for the Czech Republic in 2019.

The new lineup of the HF Dragonflies juniors is already challenging the two strongest Czech 4-way junior teams, as well. They were very close for the A Class sequence (22 - 21 - 20), after winning their first AA Class competition at the Czech Indoor Open with a 19.4 average.
