Damien Gouriou - Alban Rumolo - Mathieu Quizy - Tom Mattoni
Tom Mattoni connects the Aerokart Ak'demie junior project with the national indoor team in 4-way Open, and finally also with the national outdoor team. National coach Mathieu Bernier selected him for the new French 4-way Open Class lineup

He will compete with his former Aerokart Ak'demie team mates Oscar Massier and Cameron Malié at the indoor world cup and then switch to outdoor training and competition with his new team. His Open Class indoor team mate Mathieu Quizy is in the same situation as a new member of the new French 4-way Open Class team. The NSL News covered his progression to the national team on January 26th, as well.

Tom Mattoni is the youngest member of the new lineup with his 17 years of age. He just transitioned from 4-way junior to 4-way Open Class outdoor competition. However, the new lineup is probably the youngest national 4-way team in the world, as his team mates are not much older.

Damien Gouriou, in his early 30s (33), is the team's senior in age, while Alban Rumolo is only 21, after his three years with the French national 4-way Open and 8-way Open teams. Mathieu Quizy adds his 24 years of age for a team average of currently under 24 years. David Ricard, 32 years, is filming the team for outdoor training and competition.

Damien Gouriou and Alban Rumolo have been team mates in 4-way and 8-way since 2019. Tom Mattoni and Mathieu Quizy competed together at the French Indoor Nationals 2021. David Ricard was filming the French national teams in 4-way Open and 8-way Open both at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020, and he was also on camera for Tom Mattoni's former junior team mates of Maubeuge Aerokart Moselle when they won their outdoor bronze medals at the French Outdoor Nationals 2021.

Damien Gouriou is the most experienced team member. He was 22 years of age when he began to pursue his own goal of becoming a member of the French national teams. He joined the French B-teams and was selected for the national 4-way Open Class team by Jeremie Rollett in 2013.

He has competed for France at all four world meets ever since, only in 4-way between 2014 and 2018, then in 4-way and 8-way both at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020.

Mathieu Bernier is excited to have a new long-term commitment, as the new lineup is ready to focus only on full-time 4-way for several years. Goal is winning a new 4-way Open Class gold medal for France in 2024. Training will begin after the indoor world cup in April, where Tom Mattoni and Mathieu Quizy are still busy with the French indoor team.
