posted Mar 8th, 2022 - The Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory in Prague generated almost exactly the same record field in participation last month as they did in January. 15 teams had created the Czech ICL leaderboard in January for a total of 142 points, and 14 teams scored the 146 points for February. Only one of the new Rookie Class teams (HMHM) did not post scores and videos last month.

All four Czech teams who are registered for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 are also on the February leaderboard, and three of them contributed heavily to the total of 146 points, which is the highest ICL number for the Hurricane Factory since May 2020.

Only the 4-way Junior lineup of the HF Flying Rebels did not post the highest score for one of the six categories. The team is still training for the indoor world cup by using the complete AAA Class dive pool, and they could not outscore the Czech national senior teams in 4-way Open (HF Flying Circus) and 4-way Women (HF Cubs).

The HF Chameleons, who will also compete in Charleroi in 4-way Junior, posted the 25-pointer highscore for the A Class sequence, which could be drawn for the 4-way Junior category at the indoor world cup. Both junior teams performed the AA Class sequence, which could also be drawn in Charleroi, and the HF Flying Rebels won this internal junior competition with their 20-pointer.

The HF Cubs were back on the top of the internal Czech ICL leaderboard with a tied highscore for the AAA Class sequence and three points ahead of HF Flying Circus for the second Open Class sequence (AA).

The still reigning 4-way Junior world champions of 2019 seem to be in good shape at the right time. They may have the very unique opportunity to compete for gold medals in 4-way Women in their first FAI/ISC event after winning the 4-way Junior gold medals.

The Russian 4-way Women world champions, Bubbles, will not be able to compete at the indoor world cup, according to the recent official FAI/ISC statement:

"FAI position on the conflict taking place in the Ukraine: The military conflict taking place in Ukraine is of grave international concern. We are all deeply saddened by the inevitable human cost of war and the humanitarian crises that will be created because of this conflict. The FAI's fundamental aim is to maintain the integrity and support the development of air sports across all nations in line with a set of values that nurture inclusion and transcend national differences. To maintain that aim under the circumstances created by the military conflict in the Ukraine, the FAI Executive Board has unanimously decided to implement the following extraordinary measures: To suspend the members of Russia and Belarus with immediate effect and therefore removing all rights as listed in FAI Statutes 2.4.2.1"

Bubbles won the 4-way Women gold medals at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020, and they are probably the world's strongest 4-way indoor team in the same category at the moment. The absence of the Russian delegation at the indoor world cup opens the door to FAI/ISC gold medals for three top contenders, as the NSL Power Rankings are showing, and the HF Cubs are one of them.

The situation is similar in 4-way Junior, where two teams from Russia will not be allowed to compete in Charleroi. The Russian juniors had the potential to compete for the medal positions, as well, as the NSL News mentioned on February 3rd.

Only three 4-way Junior teams are left on the leaderboard for the indoor world cup, and the Czech delegation may have a second opportunity to win indoor gold medals. The situation is very similar to the 4-way Junior competition at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019, where Czech Republic (HF Cubs) and France (Aerokart Ak'demie) battled for the top spot.

The Czech teams still have one more opportunity for competition practice before the indoor world cup at the beginning of April. They have a 10-round meet of the Czech Tunnel League scheduled for tomorrow.
