posted Mar 28th, 2022 - The AAA Class leaderboard of the French Indoor Nationals 2022 also included former and current Aerokart Ak'demie 4-way juniors. The NSL News introduced the former juniors, Cameron Malie, Oscar Massier and Tom Mattoni, and their new senior team mate Mathieu Quizy on January 26th. Their scores at the national indoor championships this month moved them apparently closer to the 4-way Open Class medal positions at the upcoming FAI Indoor World Cup.

The scores of the current French national team in 4-way Junior, Aerokart Akdemie, were surprisingly posted on the AAA Class leaderboard, as well. It was a surprise due to the fact that the Aerokart Ak'demie team members have been competing in the 4-way Junior/AA Class category at their previous meets.

The complete current lineup had won the AA Class competition of the French Indoor Nationals in October last year, and this month's scores at the next national indoor championship were the only other results in the NSL records that the same team has posted ever since.

The French rules and regulations require the winners of the lower category (AA) to step up into AAA Class competition, and the Aerokart Ak'demie juniors had to take on the complete AAA Class dive pool in their last competition less than a month before their eight AA Class rounds at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022.

Aerokart Ak'demie in AAA/Open at the French Indoor Nationals 2022

It is not unusual that the 4-way juniors step up into the AAA Class world, even though they will perform only eight AA Class sequences at FAI/ISC events. The NSL News has reported several times how Jan Klapka has been preparing his junior teams with the AAA Class challenges in the Czech Republic.

The HF Cubs trained the AAA Class dive pool and sequences and attended several AAA Class events before winning the 4-way Junior gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019. Jan Klapka has been applying the same strategy for his two currently strongest 4-way Junior teams, HF Flying Rebels and HF Chameleons.

The Czech junior teams then step back to AA Class training before the target event, in this case the upcoming indoor world cup. Both Czech junior teams have been outscoring the French Aerokart Ak'demie juniors at different events with different competition draws and in both categories, and the NSL Power Rankings needed an adjustment in 4-way Junior.

At this point in time, it seems like the two Czech 4-way Junior teams may push each other to the two top spots. The Chameleons have been catching up with the Flying Rebels month by month. The two previously registered and recently banned Russian 4-way Junior teams could have made the competition in this category even more interesting. They will miss the competition.
