Did You Know...

... that Airspace Charleroi was ready for indoor world cup action on Tuesday?

Ready for meet action next to the airport: Airspace Charleroi
posted Apr 6th, 2022 - The transition of the NSL News headquarters to Airspace Charleroi in Belgium was completed on Tuesday, and the last preparations for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 are in full swing at the event site.

It was a mixture of final preparations of the logistics at Airspace Charleroi and last-minute training in the flying chamber. The host has set up additional service areas outside of the actual wind tunnel building to accommodate the large number of participants.

The NSL News camera recorded some footage of the first impressions a few days before the start of the actual competition and once again met InTime's Claire King and Dirk Venter in the vicinity. They have switched to exclusive judging duties for the indoor world cup after their live visit at the Shamrock Showdown 2022.

They touched all areas of the sport within the last two months, beginning with indoor training and competition during 8-way Hell Weak and Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022, outdoor competition with judging and InTime services at the Shamrock Showdown, and finally exclusively judging at the indoor world cup.

Germany's national team in 4-way Women, Piteraq, was only a 3-way on Tuesday evening and could not train much without team member Susa Serra who was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. However, they said that they were well prepared before traveling to Belgium.

In fact, they were well aware of the fact that any serious training efforts directly before the competition would not have great benefits for the performance and could even be counter-productive. They knew that they would have some flying time during the official speed test on Wednesday morning, which would be enough.

The NSL News pointed out in the preview of the indoor world cup after the German Indoor Nationals 2022 that Piteraq could face a well improved Skynamite in Charleroi in a potential battle for FAI bronze medals.

Inside the wind tunnel building, another 4-way Women team used the last training day for additional flying time. Dutch team Fatal Four is the least experienced team in the 4-way Women field, with only one competition in the NSL News records.
