Did You Know...

... that the combined AAA Class leaderboard is showing the strength of the 4-way Women teams?

Impressive and fast progress: NMP PCH HayaBusa
posted Apr 7th, 2022 - The first day of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 is over, and the fast start into the competition did what Gary Smith expected to happen. It separated the teams on the top of the leaderboard enough and allows them to feel comfortable in their positions.

It became dramatic only once when the French 4-way Open Class team outscored Arizona Airspeed by four points in Round 2. However, the much more experienced team fixed the situation quickly and put nine points between themselves and Aerokart Ak'demie in the following two rounds.

The young French national indoor team will most likely defend the 2nd place against NMP PCH HayaBusa, who continue with their impressive and quick progression though. ISR FireFlash were able to challenge their fellow Belgians at the national indoor championships, which was probably the last time that such a thing will happen, as HayaBusa keeps moving up and forward.

Skydive Midwest NEXT is leaving SDC Rhythm XP even farther behind than at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022 in February and set themselves up as the top contender for the 2nd place behind Arizona Airspeed at the USPA Nationals this year. NEXT is only two points behind FireFlash and could climb up in the rankings by another slot with a similar performance. Rhythm are facing serious opposition in the battle for the last Top 10 spot.

Round 4 at Airspace Charleroi and the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022
Nephtys of 2022: Pamela Lissajoux - Gaelle Giesen - Elise Poindron - Jessia Thebault
The competition for medals in the other two events is still as exciting as expected. The HF Cubs have to watch out and be careful and cannot allow themselves another slip as in Round 3. The new French national indoor and outdoor team, Nephtys, are close enough to take advantage of a sloppy Cubs performance.

However, the Czech team is holding the top spot after Round 4, and the Cubs are on the way to upgrade their world championship title in 4-way Junior of 2019 to the 4-way Women title. To maintain the 1st place they have to fend off three French 4-way Women world champions of 2019 (Pamela Lissajoux, Elise Poindron, Jessica Thebault) and Gaelle Giesen.

The strength of the two top teams in 4-way Women becomes more clear on the combined AAA Class leaderboard. HF Cubs and Nephtys are currently outscoring all 4-way Open Class teams behind the medal positions. Piteraq are controlling the German race for FAI bronze medals in 4-way Women and are positioned in the top half of the combined leaderboard.

The situation between Czech Republic and France in 4-way Junior is similar. The HF Flying Rebels are winning after Round 4 and have to watch out carefully, as the Aerokart Ak'demie juniors are still close enough to benefit enough from serious mistakes. At this point in time, the Czech Republic is winning two sets of FAI gold medals...
